Compton Karma at Compton Hair - A Hair Salon in Covent Garden

26 October 2009

I was fortunate enough to have an appointment at Compton Hair Salon  in Covent Garden just before I was ill, where I had been booked in for a complimentary wash and a blow dry which I was very excited about as I have only ever gone for a colour or cut with a blow dry, not just to get a blow dry. it seemed very WAG-esque!

They have a new treatment available which unfortunately I wasn't actually able to try properly as it involves a relaxing head massage whilst listening through earphones to some relaxing/hypnotic music. I did have a head massage but there were people standing directly behind us chatting and laughing through the whole thing so I couldn't really judge whether it was relaxing or not!

The lovely Sergio did me a fantastic wash and blow dry, but basically this is the new treatment that they were promoting:

"KARMA AT COMPTON HAIR - DESTRESS AT THE BACKWASH

Compton Hair has just introduced a unique free service to its Covent Garden and Barbican salons - Compton Karma, the ultimate deep relaxation treatment that combines Indian Head massage and relaxation techniques at the backwash. Compton Hair believes a visit to a hair salon should be a totally relaxing and enriching experience. Many clients arrive stressed by the pressures of everyday life - Compton Karma helps them to wind-down and recharge.

Calm....Clients are given a gently soothing Indian head massage before hair is washed

Calm....During the wash clients listen to a relaxing relaxation soundtrack via iPod to help release stress

Karma...With all negative chi dispersed, clients are in the perfect frame of mind to enjoy their styling session

Compton Karma is the brainchild of salon owner Zoltan Vargyai who believes visiting a salon should be as relaxing as visiting a spa, created with the expertise of leading hypnotist Mark Bailey (one of the UK’s leading Psychological coaches and helps people with weight loss, confidence and self esteem, fears and phobias) and a leading therapist Robert Donker. This 15 minute treatment has been developed not only to completely relax you while you have your hair washed but to stimulate the scalp and encourage healthy hair growth. "

For the blow dry I asked for volume and man did I get it, I looked like I could have been at home in Dynasty! Which was the look I asked for and he did it perfectly, I loved it.  Unfortunately after a long tube, overground and walk home it had gone a bit flat as it was so windy but I still took some before and after pics.

Before

And After

All in all I would recommend this salon for those who need to nip in before or after work or at lunchtime and for those who are young, funky and hip.  All of the girls I saw getting their hair done looked great and the colourist seemed to have done a great job on a pretty blonde who was in the salon at the same time as me, both she and her boyfriend seemed very impressed.

The salon's vibe is very trendy, i would definitely compare it more to Toni and Guy than to say the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Hair Salon (my fave hair salon- if I could actually afford to go there). So if you are a trendy type then give this place a go.  They also do beauty treatments such as mani and pedi, waxing and massages so it would be good if you were going on a night out to go there at lunchtime.

If you want to book an appointment you can call them on 0844 50 90 999

Has anyone else got their hair done recently for Fall?
