Sephora Express Color Press On Eyeshadow StickerS !!!

17 October 2009

Hiya!

I received this very weird item in a swap with a lovely girl from Makeupalley.  I looked at them for a few days as they are decidedly weird but I thought I would give them a go!

They are basically two stickers impregnated with three different stripes of shimmery eyeshadow, the shade I have is 02 dark/light brown.

Here they are:

And this is how you have to apply them, yes haha it is very funny!

And this is what they look like after you have pressed them against your eyelid for 4 seconds and then used a blending brush to blend the stripes of shadow.

And this is what the shadows look like when they are blended:

I can honestly say that I will not be purchasing these as they are really bizarre.  If you accidentaly stick the sticker on at the wrong angle then the effect would be completely ruined, and what if you dropped one when you went to apply it, you would have 1 done eyeshadow and 1 with nothing!  The colours all blended into one and creased within half an hour of wearing.  These are quite a fun gimmick and might be good for your kid sister or a 'tween' type but otherwise, no they are a bit naff.

Oh well!

Please Digg My Post

Thank you!

Hehe! The SAs at my local Sephora often try to get me to buy these, luckily I have always resisted!! I must admit though, I once bought a set of (Japanese??) rubbery pinkish eyeliner strips which just stick to your eyelid...I've never tried them though, they're just sitting pretty in my drawer! xx

I saw something like this in an Avon brochure a while ago, they seemed a bit bizzare, after reading your review I'm glad I didn't get sucked in!!

xx

@Glimmeringmetal - you had a lucky escape but I had to try them once I got them, they are so strange looking it makes them rather appealing lol! Never again....!

@Phoebe, digging is just if you like the post you click that you 'digg' it or if you don't you don't click it, but thanks for clicking! I know its a shame they don't work, I bet if they were Urban Decay ones impregnated with primer potion they would be a lot better!

@BrionyLou Hello, not sure if we have chatted before? Always nice to see a new face! And yes they do seem a bit avon-y, sometimes gimmicks work such as a really cool product I must do a reviewe on called Pedikur which I was talked into buying by a very enthusiastic QVC presenter, but others like this product are pure rubbish!

hahah this is too funny! i was checking those out today from hardcandy at walmart, and now i'm really happy i passed, they had some cute ones and some funny animal print ones... i've never actually had the urge for my lids to resemble a zebra... call me crazy! lol

Haha.. wow never seen anything like that before. They are brining out all sorts these days. I was gonna say they would probably be ok for someone who really has no idea how to apply eye shadow, but then again, it would probably look more stupid than if they tried to apply a little themselves.

@Jo - I didn't think about that, what if they didn't know how they needed to blend, they mightgo out looking like that second pic muahaha! Too funny, at least if I see someone with crazy eyes I will know what they have done!

@Lizzard- maybe the Hard Candy ones are better quality...but Zebra! Maybe they were for Halloween?

I read another review on these that completely agreed with yours. Gimmicky, didn't last and didn't look good. Also they are also not cheap so even to give as a present to a lil lass it's not worth it. Thanks for reviewing so we can avoid these things.
