Beauty Bloggers Shipwrecked Survival

1 February 2010

My girl Milly over at pearlsandpoodles had the brill idea for this tag so am taking her up on it.  Also she has very kindly agreed to be a guest blogger here on I Heart Cosmetics and review Smashbox's O-Bronze for us after some intensive testing so we can all look forward to that.

So picture the scene. You are set to be castaway on some idyllic paradise (as pictured above) for the unforeseeable future. Sounds pretty heavenly to me! The only downside is: you are only allowed to take 5 beauty/make up products with you. Eeeek!

So what would be your travel essentials? What would have to be a 'must' in your beauty survival kit?

Oh and FYI, the local tribe of the island will be providing us with suntan lotion, so no need to list that!! :)

So here goes...

    1 - Epaderm
This is an emollient with a lard esque consistency, uber gentle you can use this for washing your entire body including your face, underarms and even your loolaa so no need for any separate products for that. Great for chapped or sunburn skin it can even be used as a lipbalm if necessary
2. Razor

Gilette (sound effects) the best a maaaaan can geeet! Or the best a woman can get as well really, since that venus one does my head in frankly, if it's good enough for your face then it's good enough for my legs mate!

3. 30 day Mascara by Colorsports

This sounds like a great idea, I will be far too busy shaking my coconuts to be bothered with makeup but with blonde eyelashes you have to do something otherwise you look freaky deaky with no lashes.  I might pick this up for a test it looks quite good.
4. Bio Oil

This stuff is good for scars, stretchmarks, dehydrated skin and uneven skin tone.  In the sun my scars and stretchmarks get more obvious so I would need this and my skin would probably be more dehydrated due to the salt water.  I used this at least once a day every day and buy them up when I see them on special offer anyway, I adore this oil and don't know why I never used it before my boob job, I might have been stretchmark free!

5. Malibu Babes tan prolonging after sun lotion, has a light fake tan in and is an aftersun, it only costs £3.29 from Superdrug and comes in this wicked tube, I don't know why I think it looks sexy..but I do. I like this more than the nivea one just because of the packaging lol!  I would review this but I have no holiday planned, in the near or distant future (I told someone this today and they asked why...sometimes I wonder if people are smoking something...the only reason that you wouldn't go on holiday is money isnt' it??? surely, unless you had been very naughty and were not allowed to exit the country, I haven't been naughty!) my other half is self employed and due to the recession and the snowy weather his business hasn't been doing well enough for us to have a holiday for the forseeable future unfortunately.  If we ever do I will review this product!

And that's it for me, not that hard since these are all my holiday staples anyway.  Give it a go yourself x

Good thinking about the eyelash dye! :)
And I know what you mean about that Malibu Babes after sun. The packaging alone makes me want to buy it!

Quote of this post has to be 'I'll be too busy shaking my coconuts' how funny! Great picks for an island, not a clue what I would take with me
