Clarins Everlasting Foundation SPF15 Review

25 February 2010

I want to state first of all that I do not have a fullsize bottle of this. I took my own advice for once and asked for some sample sachets at the Clarins counter which I was very kindly given 3 of which is approximately 6 days worth of foundation. It is sensible to test a foundation for a few days before purchase if it's expensive as its going to be a giant waste of money otherwise if you end up hating it.

I have worn this foundation the last 4 days in a row for over 15 hours a day so I think that gives me adequate knowledge of the product however obviuosly I can't comment on the packaging of the regular bottle apart from saying it looks pretty similar to a YSL foundation and it is in a glass bottle which looks rather expensive.

First up this is what they claim "A melting, lightweight texture for absolute comfort, perfect makeup results and impeccable hold that lasts 15 hours thanks to the High Fidelity System. Makeup stays true all day long"

I absolutely 100% agree that this foundation is very very very long lasting. Every day for work I put on my foundation at 7am and I usually remove it at 10pm which actually is 15 hours. This foundation was still going strong at 10pm, in fact it took one of my cleanse off oils to remove it as it really didn't want to come off! So that claim I agree with it is fantastically long lasting which is incredibly impressive.

However I disagree that it is lightweight on the skin, it feels lightweight on your hand and while you are applying, but on my skin I can feel something is there, that I am wearing foundation. Also after around 5 hours or so the foundation starts to sink into fine lines and look a bit powdery. As my skin is dry this accentuates the dryness and makes me look quite liney in the exact same way Smashbox Halo did.

In the UK the foundation costs £22.99 and comes in 10 shades of which the darkest isn't actually very dark from the looks of it. I used shade 103 which is the palest and it was a pretty good match but not perfect. If you think you are more yellow toned than me this would suit much better suited to you.

Overall I am impressed with this foundation's longevity and lasting power. I would not purchase a fullsize simply as it doesn't accentuate my skin to the best advantage due to the dryness but if you have combination to oily skin and need a fuller coverage foundation I would definitely urge you to get a sample of this as it is very impressive.

I haven't actually used Clarins makeup before although I have used their skincare and liked it. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

I picked up samples of this too the other day because it really reminded me of YSL's new Teint Resist, I totally agree with you it is good and long lasting but much heavier!
Still a good foundation but maybe for someone who needs more coverage!xx

@Holly that's exactly why I picked up the samples as my local Debenhams has Clarins but not YSL and I have a gift voucher to use. Will have to either find a Debenhams with YSL or just stop being cheap! xx

Great review sweetie. I have quite dry skin so I think I might pass on this one too.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Wonder Perfect mascara. It makes your lashes dark, long, thick and it curls them too.

I got a sample from Clarins direct and from a concession, try to get one, you won't be sorry!

exactly my point! Give the damn samples if you know I might purchase such an expensive product! But no, they won't here in Italy. Know why? cos shop assistants just keep them, so that they don't have to BUY the actual products! I hate them.
I wasted 27 euros on a Clinique foundation which I hate!!!

When I asked for the Diorskin Nude one, they tested 3 shades directly on my face while I was in the shops, cos....NO NO SAMPLES! it was just so annoying, and it makes me think I should write a complaint letter to the companies!!!

Hi hun, you may have seen my post a couple of weeks ago on the Chanel Vitalumiere foundation? well im still using it and I absoloutly LOVE it!! It's by far the best foundation I have ever used, it gives good coverage but feels like your wearing nothing.....It's not cheap at £30 but I totally would re purchase this and you hardly need to use any so I think it will prob last 3-4 months....hope this is usefull x
