Party Pink Left, Mandarin Right

I love a new Barry M product, perhaps I don't blog about them enough?  I have been using Barry M since I was in secondary school, perusing the Superdrug aisles and spending my lunch money on dazzledusts (well that and a shared pack of red band cigs, not that I ever enjoyed smoking but I just thought I was sooo cool.  To this day I have still not established how I though lung cancer was cool? Hmm ).  Since then I have very rarely been disappointed with my purchases from Barry M, I have a few problems with the lipsticks as they are just too drying for me but everything else works a treat.

When I noticed on the website that these new pencils contain beeswax and other moisturising ingredients I was very interested although unfortunately whenever I tried to purchase some in my local Superdrug the displays had all be damaged, presumably by schoolchildren mucking about (little brats)!  It is such a shame when this happens as it really ruins it for people who legitimately want to buy a product but when they go to purchase they are all ruined. Fast forward to this week and I was very kindly sent two of these lip lacquer crayons to test out, in lovely brand spanking new packaging and no bratty schoolkids in sight!

Now these pencils are seriously pigmented, and while they are not glittery upon first application they apply sort of metallic-y as you can see here:

As you can see this is super bright! I didn't blot my lips for the pic above and I think its a bit too brigh
it looks much better when they are blotted. Party Pink is definitely my favourite colour its so pretty

The pencils are great for your handbag and the plastic lid fits on tightly and isn't going to fall off and cause a big pink mess in your handbag which I always dread. The only thing with the packaging is...how do you sharpen them? I am still debating this, and I think I need a giant sharpener.  I also love the fact that the barrel of the pencil is absolutely the exact colour of the lip lacquer it's not even off a tad so very handy if you are in a rush.

The value is brilliant as you only need a tiny bit, you could probably use much less than I did if you used a lipbrush, but I will be honest with you now, I cannot really be bothered with lipbrushes myself, it's just such a faff!

These certainly had a good lasting power once blotted, as I found they were too moist before blotting. I applied at lunchtime and still had a good colour at 4pm, and that's good in my book as I talk, eat, drink water etc. pretty much all day long!

I was certainly not left with dry or chapped lips in the slightest once these rubbed off, I wouldn't necessarily say they impart a massive amount of mositure but they do not dry my lips out in any way.

These are pretty easy to apply, I would knock off a couple of points if I was scoring it simply because the pencil is so chunky it's a bit difficult to get into the corners of your mouth.  Would I repurchase? Most definitely, and I want to try the new matte eye pencils too as if the consistency is like these they could be a good dupe for NYX's pencils.

Do you love BarryM?  And do you want to stamp your foot when you see another ruined makeup display? Let me know!

I've got a couple of these and they're lovely - the darker shades are definitely more pigmented though.

If you discover a way to sharpen them...let me know! I'm also thinking giant sharpener but I'm a bit scared, simply because they're so soft...eek. x

Thanks for the review, I was checking these out the other day but wasn't sure whether to buy or not. The colour pay-off looks amazing though! Might try it X
