So instead I bought a few little bits from Hotel Chocolat, I reserve going there for a rare occasion as I can easily spend too much money. I think these mini bars and mini sets of 6 choccies are the best value for money compared to the massive bars and the posh boxes of chocolates. Although I do love looking at all of their amazing and extravagant displays.

If you buy 3 or more bars/sets of 6 choccies then they cost £2.75 each but the chocolate is good quality and I really like the taste. I am a bit weird with chocolate, I love Cadbury and I sort of like Thorntons, but Galaxy and Mars make me gag, I cannot stand them or an even bigger nightmare would be a Yorkie urgh I don't like those at all.

I always believe in the rule of having a lil treat now and again and I wanted to get Matt a little treat for sticking to his diet for 2 weeks straight, and a few nicely made choccies are more of a treat than beer or a giant pack of Doritos that he would normally have. If you have a little special treat now and again you don't feel so deprived if you are on a diet. You just have to make it a treat not an every day thing!
Does anyone else like Hotel Chocolat? I'm going to get slated by Galaxy lovers now aren't I haha!

I tried Hotel Chocolat for the first time when I was home in December - love their little mini pots of chocolate buttons... plus all the flavours in the little packs that you got.
I love most chocolate though in all honesty... not a fan of yorkie like you...but I like galaxy!
im one of them confused ex loyal cadbury brummie customers...ie hate kraft the plastic cheese company yet love cadbury...what are we to do when kraft outsource the taste will change because the milk will be different... :(
i tried to boycot but failed miserably cos its too yummy...i cut down though...

@simpleelegance I know exactly how u feel as I used to work at the head office of cadbury and kraft have really ruined a British institution.if the taste changes then I will stop buying it and we are boycotting all other kraft products now to make me feel better. Stupid bloody kraft!

about Easter ? I love easter but definately not because of the chocolate eggs , I am more for natural things , every year I colour the real eggs in onion skins and little herbs ..I love the tradition and process as well ..and the result is wonderful ..can't wait ..
you are so right about the 10x more price and just companies double money making on easter , the same with Christmas ..
nooooo, you see i think paying the extra is worth it. for some reason the choc is way more delicious when its shaped like an egg. i dont know why but it just is.

I love Hotel Chocolat. Moving to Brimingham and discovering the shop in the Bullring was a major event for me. For the past couple of years my bf has got me a HC advent calendar and my aunty sent us an HC christmas cracker with loads of gorgeous chocs inside. I love the flavours they come up with.

That looks just.. ugh i have to go pick up some of those orange drizzle pralines that literally melt in your mouth. Im not sure if i could chose between them and my man they are that good!
