It was such a lovely day yesterday and I had a walk along Victoria Embankment and then went to Superdrug where I saw absolutely masses of new beauty and skincare items so I thought I would keep you all updated.
I couldn't really afford to pick up everything that I wanted since I am trying to limit myself a bit so there's not 'real' pics of everything, as I didn't buy everything! As an aside - is it me or has drugstore stuff got really expensive?
Gosh has two new foundation primers, one in a pump and one in a tub - the one in the tub seems great, although very overpriced even on special offer for £12.00 - it will normally cost £16.00. It is specifically to hide lines and it seems really good to me. It is very similar in texture to the Clarins instant smooth primer in the red tub which I also own so I don't really need this. As a test I applied it to the back of one hand whilst in store and it does look a lot smoother and less lined than the other one. I wish I could find a pic but there doesn't seem to be one online yet.
Another new Gosh product is an eyeshadow base in a black tube which was £8.00 which was clear and felt quite silicone-y. There was also a matte powder compact but I didn't really like the packaging so didn't pay much attention. I couldn't find pics of these either so it must be a scoop! Ooo get in there Sary!
I picked up the Gosh nail varnish in Peachy and if you don't fancy paying for China Glaze's new peach polish to be sent from the USA (it is gorgeous though) then this is a nice alternative for £5.00.
Bourjois's new Black Quartz version of the
1001 Lashes Mascara
Bourjois have some new Kohl pencils out and a new 'darker black' version of Bourjois 1001 Lashes Mascara in Black Quartz, as well as their Healthy Mix foundation and concealer. Max Factor have special offers on their newest false lash effect mascaras with around £2.00 off. The large Superdrug that I went to also had a mini section with some brightly coloured new products called Colour Effects but I can't find much info on Google about them. There were 3 mini nail varnishes, 2 lipglosses in tubes and some eyeshadow quads. So I picked up on of the lipglosses as the colour was unusual and called #9 Pink Impetuous.
I also found something else interesting when googling the Max effect lipgloss. I found this website
Seriously go and look at it, not only does it show the upcoming new Max Factor lippies, there are pics of hot men! Wahey!
They also had a selection of new lipglosses with wands called Max Factor New Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss but I swatched them and I didn't like any of them, they were too glittery and sheer for me, not really any decent colour payoff at all but hey you might like them.
Maybelline have some new Colour Sensational lipglosses and I picked up No. 122 but there are about 6 in total in varying degrees of pink and brown. They also have a new Superstay 24 hour foundation and Superstay Powergloss but I find those long lasting lipsticks way too drying, and I don't need another foundation. 24 Hour wear seems a bit of a long time though!
Revlon - obviously there was the Photoready Foundation but they didn't have shade 001 for some reason. That was the only reason I went there! Why did they only have 002? Baffled!
Rimmel have a new foundation and concealer called Match Perfection, even the lightest shade was too dark so I didn't bother picking that up either.
They also have a new selection of lipsticks in gorgeous pink shiny tubes, called Colour Show-Off! I picked up 020 called Shake-up Pink and I love this, perfect for use with rosy cheeks and beigey toned eyeshadows. Lovely.
The last thing I picked up was half price from the incredibly difficult to spell schwarzkopf range got2b click here for their website got2b
I picked up Guardian Angel Heat Protect Spray as it was half price at £1.99 and my Tresseme one is a bit crap and my Chi Keratin Mist is great but I like to have one at home and one in my gym bag otherwise I always forget to switch them over then I go to dry my hair and I can't find it. Oh who am I kidding it was because I liked the name and the angel wings haha!

Wow... there is a lot of new stuff out isn't there. I want the new maybelline foundations, as I really love my other maybelline foundation (forgot the name cos im just sat here having my morning brew and the brain hasn't functioned yet ha). Love the look of that Rimmel Lippie too. Oh and of course Im drooling over the GOSH Polish, NEED that not want.. just NEED. X
When I first saw Photoready in Boots the lady was there setting it up and she gave me the testers to try. She didnt have 001 either. It started at 002-Vanilla which luckily is perfect for me.
OMG GOSH.....cant stand the brand. Overpriced and low quality. £16 for a primer, no doubt stuffed with parabens. For an extra 4 quid you could get MAC's one.
How very dare they!
:)
xoxox
Love the look of the Rimmel lipstick...will have to try and get out to investigate. x
I'm definitely going to go into my local Superdrug tomorrow and check all the make up out, I usually avoid it because the majority is overpriced and rubbish! I love the name of the heat protection you got, I think I'll get some of that and have a look at the new Maybelline stuff and maybe the false eyelashes.
On a side note, since when was Gosh expensive?! I always thought it was one of the cheaper brands?
ohhhhhhhhh fab post, really want to try the new maybelline foundation =D

Wow, great haul! I spotted the GOSH nail polish in my local Shoppers Drug Mart for 3$... but I figured out I didn't need it. Now you make me want to go grab it xD
