Review of Cellnique Products

19 April 2010

The products that I was sent by Selina of Cellnique are:

These products help in skin hydration. Selina very kindly took all of my skin and allergy details into account and sent me these specific products as they thought they would be suitable for use with my eczema and sensitive skin.  If Selina is a representitive of the rest of the people at Cellnique then I would be very happy to buy from them, she is a very nice, kind person and didn't ask me to do a 'positive' review (some people do ask).

She advised to use the Intensive Hydrating Complex as a serum prior to moisturising and to use the Vital Cellular Repair Emulsion in place of my usual moisturiser. The Vital Cellular Repair Masque can be used once or twice a week - I used it once a week.

Packaging - the packaging looks very similar to Clinique's packaging which is classic, classy and very expensive looking - I really like this it was heavy and looks expensive.

Price - I am not really sure on the price points as it is all in US Dollars but the prices are on the website.

The Vital Cellular Repair Emulsion was a good moisturiser, but to be honest it didn't have anything extra and I didn't think it made my skin more moist particularly than any other.  If you use it with the Hydrating Complex it does perform well, but to me that's more down to the other product.

The Intensive Hydrating Complex is my favourite item from the three I was sent. It is a lightweight transparent liquid which has a consistency a bit like a gel and a bit like a serum. You use it after cleansing and toning, before moisturising. It is slightly sticky but not in an irritating way. It really makes your skin feel firm and hydrated, its quite a weird feeling actually and your skin looks instantly brighter - this is some good stuff! The ingredients include Glycine, Proline, Serine, Alanine, Arginine, Threonine, Glutamic acid and Lysine which are essential amino acids, and these work to fill in lines, smooth and improve the tone of skin and even help with scarring. I would definitely recommend this one if you want your skin to really glow, especially for those in Asia where this is more readily available (although they do ship worldwide).

The Vital Cellular Repair mask unfortunately made me break out each time that I used it. Once the break-out had cleared my skin was fine so perhaps it was drawing out impurities but I think it might be because it is fragranced with a 'tropical scent'. The colour is a bright aqua colour which I really loved and the packaging and formulation were really really nice. Just the downside of the breakouts that put me off!

Overall I would definitely recommend the Intensive Hydrading Complex as I was very impressed with this product.
