Do you like bees?

I have an extreme obsession with going to Holland and Barret, I even made this picture of a haul I did last month haha!  These are some of my repurchase items. Floravital is a vitamin and iron supplement, Nakd bars are cold pressed raw food bars, I like the apple pie one which tastes cinammony.  I also love coconut water as it contains lots of potassium which is good for cramps which I get all the time I have no idea why but my mum gets it too, the Dr. just said there are 'many contributory factors' wow that's helpful!  I also hauled some mint liquorice and Little Herbert raisin and apple snack packs, these are just to keep in the car for a snack attack so I don't go and buy choccies as the petrol garage.

Some favourite online health food shops I like are Revital and Victoria Health where you can pick up lots of lovely things including  the absolute cutest supplements ever from UnBEElievable Health which are called  BEE Prepared Immune Supplements

Please note I was sent these for review by UnBeelievable - I am hoping not because I look rough...but probably :P

They say "Bee Prepared Immune Support chewables are a delicious all-in-one combination supplement for all ages over 4 years. Comprised of four of nature's most dynamic and safest ingredients which are known to help support immune health; Bee Propolis, Black Elderberry Extract, Olive leaf Extract and Beta Glucans. It is bursting with antioxidants and beneficial flavonoids and has powerful antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. All ingredients are naturally sourced. BEE Prepared is ideal year round and can be taken daily, or when feeling ill or run down, before or during travel and when the immune system needs a helping hand. Helpful with sore throats and mouth ulcers too. "

BEE Prepared Immune Support Chewables:

Contains only the highest quality ingredients, sourced in the EU.

Manufactured in the UK under the strictest of quality control measures.

Contains no GMOs or synthetic ingredients.

Vegetarian Society Approved.

My Opinion

What I like about these is that while they don't taste like chocolate or something yummy, they are at least edible without tasting vile (unlike Floravital..eew) and they are also fine to take with your normal multivitamin.  This matters as you don't want to take more than your recommended allowance of some vitamins or 'overdose' on them, as this can be even worse than not taking enough.
They are fine for vegetarians unlike a lot of supplements and they are chewable, yay!  They are great to take if you are a stressed out or a mum who never gets any sleep or even if  you aren't a mum, personally I usually feel in need of a nap. I have been using these since last Wednesday and I certainly feel a lot better than I did earlier in the week.

In case you wonder what the hell Bee Propolis actually is I shall explain!  Propolis is a substance bees collect from tree buds. Bee propolis contains antioxidants called flavonoids. Propolis is also found in small quantities in honey (since it's made by bees).

Why Do People Use Bee Propolis?

Propolis is a natural remedy for wound infection and other illnesses. Preliminary studies suggest it may be active against bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms.
Basically from all of the research I read on it the general consensus was that the propolis helps your body through its ability to trigger the body's own fighting mechanisms rather than by killing or destroying specific bacteria or viruses. So basically it helps your own body do it's thing at preventing illness and supports the immune system.

I am going to continue taking these and we shall see what happens.

The RRP on these is £14.99 for 30 tablets which is a months supply.

Does anyone else love Health Food Shops? I like the weird and wonderful things they sell!

I was so surprised to see Panda liquorice in Holland and Barrett when I visited UK some years ago since it's Finnish brand and didn't think to find our candies from a health store.
