Every magazine I have picked up this week is telling me how to get Festival Ready, and telling me that I need to buy some dry shampoo and I don't think it has to just be for festivals or camping as I have never been and I use it all the time!
My faves are Batiste and Label.M. but the Batiste major advantage is that it is cheap, comes in lots of different colours and scents and mini versions, and is easy to pick up in your local Boots or Superdrug, the downside is that a lot of the versions leave brunettes with a white powder on their hair which then needs some extreme rubbing and brushing to get rid of (fine for blondes though).
Directions for use
1. Shake can nice & thoroughly
2. Hold can approx 30cm from hair, spray lightly
3. Massage into your hair with fingertips for even coverage
4. Leave a few minutes
5. Brush it out – preferably with a bristle brush
Batiste Silver Shimmer
Packaging - cute in the usual batiste style, aerosol style spray as with other brands which is also easy to use and direct
Colour - silver and shimmery funnily enough!
Volume - Not as much as the usual Batiste shampoos
Overall - I like the idea of this but it's more of a novelty item to me, this one really would be much better at festivals or for clubs.
Batiste Nude
Packaging - a turn away from the usual cutesy Batiste packaging which I quite like actually as it's more functional and it's actually in recyclable packaging. The nozzle makes things much easier for brunettes to avoid the white hair look.
Scent The formula is fragrance free and perfect for sensitive skin/scalp.
Volume Ooodles of volume. This is brilliant.
Overall
This is their first eco-friendly dry shampoo ideal for sensitive hair as it is a hypoallergenic, 100% natural, fragrance free formulation and contains no volatile organic compounds. It's such a cool idea and its still a low cost item at Cost £3.49 for 50g.
Batiste Fresh
Packaging - Blue version of the standard can, I really like this colour
Colour - The usual white dustiness, this can be alleviated by spraying while your hair is turned upside down or using the old Lollipop26 trick of applying before bed so when you wake up your night time head tossing has made the powder disappear.
Scent - Love the scent, like freshly washed clothes and fresh hair - this is definitely my favourite out of the fragranced line. I used to use Boho but I like this a lot better.
Volume - As usual masses of volume once the initial dustiness is worked into the hair. I love my batiste bouffants.
Overall - My feelings are that Batiste are really moving their products forward and evolving their range to suit much more people, I think it's actually really cool that their new nude shampoo is in recyclable packaging and uses natural products. I am also a big fan of the new fresh scent and packaging as it has the same super volume as regular batiste but with a just washed hair scent, which surely is what everyone wants!
The shimmer ones are great for a night out and are a cute addition to the line but I don't think I would purchase as I think there are plenty of their items in their range that I like more.
The products are available from Superdrug and Boots plus many other online shops like Asos. Costing from £1.50 - £3.49.

Hey hon
I love this stuff, I have to wash my hair every day and sometimes it goes gressy in the evenings so for me this is a must.
I also have extensions and from time to time the bonds can go a bit tacky so this helps to dry them out not what it was designed for but helps lol.
It is a real must have for me. I generally stick to the fresh one. Tried the holiday one and did not like the smell at all made me feel a bit sick. Not seen the nude one will have to check it out

The nude one looks interesting.

ooooh i like the look of the Nude batiste, im deffinately gunna keep a look out for this one xx
I've never used dry shampoo...I don't need any extra volume in my hair and I'm afraid of the residue. I also have a sensitive scalp so I like to stick to the brands I know.
im also a brunette, and many a time have I had friends say Sophie your hair is going grey! But I was recently in Boots and they now have a brunette one, have you tried that? Sophie x
I've never tried a dry shampoo. Some days when I'm running late and have to make the choice between being more late and washing my hair or leaving the house looking horrible and greasy I wish I had some! After reading this post I really think I will try one and hopefully it won't end in a grey hair disaster!
I have never used Dry Shampoo before, and am easily accessable to both boots and superdrug. Which would you recommend for my hair? I have strawberry blonde hair which I have to wash daily, as I hate the feeling of dirty/greasy hair.
Thanks! xxx
@tracey, I would buy a mini one in one of the scents (I like boho) just to see if you like it, if you do then the fullsize in fresh and the new nude one are my faves xx
I keep buying batiste dry shampoo as I get really greasy hair about 12hrs after washing it which is a pain in the backside but I can never get it to work.
Maybe my hair is just too oily.
I think it's really funny that they've picked up on that festival thing and suddenly it's like "well this is obviously for festivals"
tracymiami - its good stuff!
@LisaX - really? maybe you need a super strength one like bumble and bumble?
@Rhamnousia hehe!
@Paula me too it's really good stuff x

Sophie I have used the brunette one but it doesn't give me any volume so I didn't bother repurchasing x
@Gemx definitely buy a mini size and see if you like it x
@Kelsey lol I know, you don't just need it at festivals!
I really do love this stuff :)
It's been a life saver soo many times!
I've tried Batiste before and i'm regretting not repurchasing now its summer! I think i'll pick up the new Fresh scent or the Nude one in the new style bottle although im not sure how it works?
Great review
xx
Unrelated, sorry, but does anyone know what's due out at MAC this Thursday? Thanks
I love Batiste too. Like you say, cheap and easily available. I saw the shimmer ones but was a bit scared of them!
