Origins A Perfect World SPF 25 Review

You probably know from my endless harping that I adore my Origins Youthtopia foundation, I am obsessed and use it almost every day interspersed  (is that word?) with my new Bobbi Brown one.

So, naturally, being offered to test another Origins product had me about as happy as..well..Larry!

So it is with great morose that I have to write that Origins A Perfect World SPF25 is not quite my new BFF.

When I read through the blurb it ticked off all of my mental boxes such as

Antioxidant (white tea)

SPF (25 - very good)

Vitamins - C and E

Daytime - check (Korres Materia Herba still being my ultimate night time anti ageing fix)

Oil free - just because my skin is dry does not mean it reacts well to oil!

Protects from future ageing - you know me so well!

My first overall impressions were that I didn't particularly like the tub as after I threw away that annoying cardboard seal a lot of the product leaked out even when it was shut (which is obviously why it was there, but it fell on the floor and got carpet stuck to it). I liked the colour of the pot, and the scent and texture of the product.

It is a cream colour which to me seems to smell lightly of sherbet dib dab - probably the only scented moisturiser that I have ever really liked mmm orange sheeer beerrrt, I think I have been brainwashed by Austin Powers.  The texture is slightly thicker than my Korres Materia Herba.

The key ingredient is Maritime Pine (I had no idea what that was either) but apparently it strengthens the skin's natural defence system to prevent oxidation (so this should be good for oily skins) and visibly repairs the look of UV damage (please note it says visibly, so I have no idea if it ACTUALLY repairs the damage or just if it looks like it has).

The sunscreens used are Octisalate, Avobenzone and Octocrylene meaning it has a broad spectrum.

The price is - £30 for 50ml

My overall feelings are that this is a good moisturiser and a great SPF, but it isn't right for me. I think the fact that this prevents oxidation and is oil free means it is much better suited to someone with oily and spot prone skin. I also think that I may have had a problem with one of the sunscreens used as around my hairline I came up with a few little whiteheads, which I never normally get from my Avene sunscreen which is a mineral one.

All in all I don't dislike this product at all and will continue using it until it's finished but I would not purchase this as I think there will be better Origins products suited to me.  I would recommend this moisturiser for those with oily skin that isn't sensitive to sunscreens.
