It's finally Saturday and after a very long week I was hoping to have a lie-in. That didn't happen as Matt is off to paintballing today but hopefully I can fit plenty of things into today so it isn't wasted. I also really wanted to thank everyone for their kind comments on my FOTD in my previous post, and also nice to know that I don't really look like Captain B.
I really want to put up my April favourites video this weekend as there are some products that I am loving and a blush combo that I put on at 6.30am on the day of an important meeting at work and it was still there and as vibrant when I took it off around 8.00pm that night, so that might be of interest to some of you.
Also I have been doing a little shopping as I always treat myself when I have a hard week at work to cheer me up, so hopefully that will come over the next few days too.
This Weeks Nails
The nails started off the week wearing Avon Speed dry+ nail varnish in Twilight Blue. It claims to dry in under 30 seconds! I found it to take 1 minute to be dry and I only needed 1 coat and a topcoat as it was very pigmented. It was very difficult to picture as it looks almost black but is a very dark navy. As with all good things there was a downside and that was that it chipped after 24 hours, but still it only took a minute to touch up again so not really such a big deal and I was impressed that it was Avon, I don't really like much of their stuff.
You can get 2 of these nail varnishes by Avon for £7.00 at the moment here avonshop
Then after the meeting was over I moved on to this amazing bright yellow by Orly called Lemonade, which someone described as Custard! I think that's a good description as it's the exact shade of Marks and Spencer vanilla custard. I adore Orly polishes, they are so well pigmented, you only need 1 thick or 2 thin coats to look exactly like the colour in the bottle and the brush and rubber handle make painting so easy. They don't chip on me for 3 days which is good for me, mine can easily chip the same day I do them. You can get Orly here in the UK from ebay or from cupidandgrace
Due to the fact I have been working long hours this week and have on more than one occasion fallen asleep on the sofa still wearing my coat after walking in the front door I have only been to the gym once this week! For me this is like....horrific.. I am sure some people think I am being far too overdramatic but it really does affect me and I can seriously tell that I have put on a few pounds and feel bloated and lethargic, the fact that I am seriously tired doesn't help either. I just feel so much healthier when I go to the gym, drink plenty of water and have plenty of sleep, even a few days not like this makes me feel horrendous.
So the plan? Well I have the next 9 days off work, so I can recharge, get back to the gym, back to drinking more water again, back to healthy food rather than crap snatched on the run and I thought I would try these Rodial Tummy Tuck sticks to see if they work, it's just a sachet that you mix with water and take once a day for a fortnight. We shall see, even if it's a placebo I don't mind as it might help my motivation.
I was debating a course of powerplate courses after seeing beautyjunkielondon's fantastic results after her course, but then Marcia mentioned (as an instructor of such powerplate courses) that it was just a load of crap and if you just went to the gym you would get the same results. I see what she means as if you never did any exercise and then went for a powerplate course then you would most likely lose weight, but if you already go to the gym then theres not much point. I am still annoyed though, I want a quick fix! (all free offers of vaser hi-def lipo for my big old thighs are welcome lmao)!
I also received my Aussie Angel gift this week, I am sure you don't need to see it since everyone else probably posted theirs earlier in the week. I am part of the Miracle Moist Tribe and my little button and link to the Uncover Aussie website is in the sidebar.
Unfortunately since I live in Kent I am not going to be going to the Miracle Moist Tribe party in Birmingham, it's on a Saturday so it would basically take up my whole weekend going there, staying overnight and travelling back and since I only ever get to see Matt at weekends it made much more sense to tag along to the Colour Mate Tribe party which is being held in London on the 7th August, as it takes an hour just to commute to London, so you can imagine how long it would take to get to Birmingham!
So let me know if you are an Aussie Angel too especially if you are going on the 7th to the colour mate event.
Other new producst I have been trialling this month are a love of mine - fake tanners. This weeks has been the absolutely gorgeous coloured Clinique Self Sun and today I am going to start on the Elemis Total Glow self tanning cream. The Clinique one blew me away and the colour is amazing, even though it was light to medium it still showed up on me like a Jennifer Aniston golden caramel, this is a new favourite for sure, you can totally get away with wearing the guide colour out without looking like a grubby lunatic which always helps when you need to slap it on and leave the house! So watch out for the reviews on those.
So...how has this week been for you?

Yay... so glad you've got 9 days off work, not only do you deserve it because you work so damn hard... but it means I get to chat to to you on twitter more :D
Cant wait for the reviews on the tans too. Ive really got inhto this fake tanning lark ha!
Oh and need to mention your nails, can't believe how well they've grown! they look just perfect now, you've done so well sticking it out and not going back to your much loved acrylics babe.
Love ya!

@Jo -yaay for twitter chats! The Clinique is gonna be hard to beat, it lasted a week and has only gone patchy today day 7! Thanks for the nail props, only taken four bloody months! My poor friend has actually had such dramas with that assistant that she sacked her, then the girl is trying to take her to tribunal as she is apparently pregnant and claiming for unfair dismissal! Since she only worked there for a few months to cover my mates maternity leave I just can't believe she has got herself up the duff and is now trying to rinse my mate of all of her money, considering she is skin I have no idea how she thinks my mate (who had a baby last month) can pay her! Very depressing :(
Oh thanks for the Orly link, I've been looking for a UK retailer for aages!! I've had a long week at work as well. I fell asleep in the car on the way home yesterday! (I was a passenger lol)
enjoy your time off work! That orly nail polish looks absolutely lovely xxx
Great article thanks for such a nice review I will definitely buy it
Ooooh, 9 days? Sounds like it will be enough to relax, unwind and make positive changes for the future!
Can't wait to read the Clinique review, sounds amazing (and maybe sth to spice up my usual Xen Tan fake-tanning routine by?)!
xx
Love, love, love the super dark blue polish.. I've never liked blue polish but that really takes my fancy! Hope you get back to your usual routine ASAP, I'm exactly the same xx

WOW! I really love the Orly Lemonade colour! It is difficult to find a yellow polish that doesn't look like your nails are just gross and yellow-tinted haha
