Neuro-Trim Review and NOTD

11 June 2010

I was sent some Neuro drinks from drink neuro and it wasn't until I received them that I realised that I had actually bought and enjoyed some of these myself before and one of them is even in one of my youtube vlogs D'oh!

My favourite is the Neuro-Trim drink.

Neuro - Trim

What is it? A herbal extract drink which contains essential vitamins and minerals. Neuro trim is supposed to support your dieting.

What it claims to do: Helps control your appetite by providing a feeling of fullness to reduce food cravings. The key ingredient, LuraLean, is a unique, proprietary, 300-year old Japanese fibre derived from the konjac root and activated upon consumption. The konjac fibre temporarily swells to more than 200 times its actual size upon consumption, sending signals to the brain that it is satisfied. LuraLean also absorbs fats and oils, before they're absorbed by the body, and promotes healthy regularity and improved digestive health. Over 20 clinical trials demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of this ingredient for weight loss. "One gram" of this special fibre (contained in each bottle) is the equivalent of consuming 20 grams of regular fibre. The ingredient L-Carnitine aids in burning fat, which also promotes weight loss and helps achieve a leaner you.

My opinion - Drinking a fizzy drink between meals would keep me full because of the gas but the problem usually is that most sports drinks or fizzy drinks (like diet coke or sugar free red bull) are full of chemicals and such so I don't really want to drink them and fizzy drinks make me feel a bit bloated (does anyone else get this?).

This drink is not carbonated at all and that's one of the reasons that I like it.

The bottle recommends you drink it 30 minutes before every meal, but I drank mine at the 3.30pm slump/ munchies and felt full until my 5.30pm pre-gym snack of some oatcakes, so another 2 hours.

Unlike some herbal drinks, there's no strange smell or taste - it tastes like lemonade. I think this is a great way to fill yourself up if you are one of those people who is addicted to snacking. It contains caffeine like most sports drinks so don't use this if you are sensitive to caffeine, it also contains green tea which I love to drink anyway and the liquid fibre which is described above which I assume is the main thing that keeps you feeling full.

I am personally just trying to refrain from unplanned snacking, I found this drink beneficial in keeping myself full and not feeling hungry between meals and think it would be great for people who love snacking and picking at food although if you are on a diet it's only 37 calories so would fit into most diet plans.

I like the fact that the drink is not carbonated and it tastes just as good cold from the fridge or not (I don't have a fridge at work to keep drinks in). I also like that there are no artificial colours or sweeteners.

If you fancy trying it the price is £1.79 and it's available from Selfridges and Waitrose (a bit expensive for a drink granted, but they do often have them on special offer of 2 for £2 at Waitrose).

Interesting. And these don't taste at all like red bull or lucozade (bleaurrrrrgh)?
I get bloated from fizzy drinks, it's why I don't often get them, although I have treated myself to a diet coke tonight!

Nice polish as well :)

I love Neuro! I saw the awesome - slightly phallic - bottle at my local store. I had to try it, and NeuroTrim has really helped curb my appetite. I am at 5 pounds and counting this past quarter!
