Fekkai Protein RX Reparative Shampoo and Conditioner Review

10 November 2010

In the Winter your hair is attacked by the extreme weather, central heating, office air conditioning and plenty of hat wearing so you need to take even more care of it than usual to stop breakages and split ends.  Also if you have an addiction to hair drying and straightener abuse like me you really do need to be careful.

You firstly need to make sure you use the right shampoo and conditioner and at the moment I am loving these Fekkai RX Reparative Shampoo and Conditioner.  They are pretty expensive like most top end brands, £19.00 each eesh!  But then my label.m products are similar in price so I figured it was justifiable.  You can buy them from Space NK

Protein Rx Reparative Shampoo and Conditioner -

Protein Rx Reparative Shampoo and Conditioners are ideal for brittle, broken hair that has been weakened from coloring, relaxing, or heat styling. An exclusive soy and milk protein complex restores and reinforces hair, preventing future breakage and leaving hair stronger and more manageable.

The ingredients I found most interesting are buttermilk powder, hydrolyzed wheat protein/pvp crosspolymer, hydrolyzed wheat protein pg-propyl silanetriol, hydrolyzed soy protein, hydrolyzed milk protein, hydrolyzed jojoba protein, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) protein, hydrolyzed oat protein,

Not only are these all different types of nourishing protein for your hair to leave it all silky I get the impression that some of these things contribute to the absolutely delicious vanilla essence and milk style scent that permeates all of the products in this range.  You smell a bit like a vanilla cake until it wears off which luckily makes me very happy!

This is awesome on frizz and after using it twice a week for 6 weeks my hair really does look stronger and more shiny.  I don't use it every time I wash my hair as I don't want to put too much protein on my hair in case it causes more damage.  You don't want to overdo the protein products.

My hair looks smoother, shinier and softer but without being weighed down. My hair is very fine and if the conditioner I use is too heavy it can look greasy or limp but neither of those things happens when using these products.

I would definitely recommend both the shampoo and conditioner for dry, frizzy thick or fine hair, people with breakages, split ends or highlighted or bleached hair.  These will definitely be repurchased.

These both get a definite 9/10 from me (minus 1 for the price).

Have you ever tried Frederic Fekkai before?
