Tan Tastic!

I have been thinking quite a lot about how blogging has helped me over the last year or so and it has really made me realise that  I would like to learn more about beauty and beauty treatments.  Not to say there is anything wrong with my current job but especially since the recession I realised I want to broaden my skills just in case I am ever made redundant again.  I also want to thank all of you who leave me comments and chat to me as it really has given me a lot of confidence to try new things and think that I can be good at them.

Therefore I have decided in my spare time to take part in some beauty courses so I can become accredited in different things.  That way, if it turns out I have any skills in these areas then perhaps I can do more in that area and do treatments mobile in the evenings and weekends to make some extra money for holidays and treats like that.  - or perhaps it will just be interesting for me to blog about!  I am more than happy to share where I go for the training and which products I use etc. perhaps this might also help someone looking to do the same course.

I have made a list of all of the courses that I would like to complete and I am booked in to complete my first course which is spray tanning - guess when? Next Tuesday!!

I am really excited so I hope you will all encourage me and if  you have your own business or salon or any recommendations of courses that friends have done then please do let me know.  Or if you go to the beauty salon which are your favourite treatments? Obviously I can only do the odd day length course or a couple of days when I can book time off work as I work full time.
  • Spray Tanning
  • Manicure
  • Pedicure
  • Eyelash Extensions
  • Eyelash Tinting
  • HD brows -  I saw Katie Price did a course in this and it looked really interesting
  • Massage
  • Waxing
  • Facials
  • Vagazzle (jokes) hehe!

If you have any opinions or advice then please do let me know!

  1. Good for you Sarah, you never know where it may lead xx

  2. Could you also post where you're taking the courses, just in case any one (well... me haha) is interested in taking them too?

    Thank you! :) :)

  3. such an amazing idea!
i want to do some courses now!
    great post xo

  4. Oh wow, this looks really interesting! Look forward to reading how it goes for you :)

  5. How exciting! I've always wanted to do some makeup or nails courses, can't wait to see what you think!

  6. I say go for it. I'm already in my second year of nails and I'm qualified in manicures, pedicures, silks/fibreglass extensions, Shellac, ear piercing, Sienna X spray tan, tooth fairy gems and soon in gels, acrylics, Minx, indian head massage, thai manicures and pedicures and a few other courses.

Next year I will be concentrating on beauty and eventually would like to rent a room/open a salon. Wow didn't realise I was already qualified in a lot lol

  7. Technically I went to school to be an esthetician. I love it but where I live its not so popular so I am working as a receptionist. I want to have my own studio.

  8. Hi Sarah,

I did the same and trained in courses nails, tanning, HD brows to go along side my make up! I would say get the HD brow course done asap im so busy wth HD brows! Everyone loves it! xx
