Pre-Holiday Beauty Preparations

I am on my way out the door to the airport and off to sunny Tenerife..

As well as the actual holiday itself there is always the exciting time beforehand when you need (note the word need - this is just how I personally feel lol) to buy things to wear and to take with you and beauty products and treatments to use to prepare your body for being unleashed on the beach.

I love beauty treatments and I booked myself in for my favourites to really ensure that I have a fab time!

I will go to a local salon for my waxing regularly but as a treat I suck it up, save the extra money and go to Strip as the waxing is just better, I know this because my salon near home uses the same wax, and had the same training at the same venue- so I think it's just the skill of the waxers at strip that I am impressed by - the wax lasts longer and there are less ingrown hairs. I also generally do all spray tan, manicure and pedicure treatments myself now I am trained, but I booked myself a pedicure as a treat as it's just not the same doing your own cuticles.

Must haves before bikini body is bared!

Bikini and eyebrow wax at Strip in One New Change London.  All credit to Farrah at Makeupitgirl for this, I went on her recommendation and it is fabulous. I still can't believe she doesn't have many more followers, her beauty and skincare wisdom is huge! I recommend following her.  Strip waxing use Lycon which is a lovely wax and you can choose from SOBerry or SOYummy which is Chocolate, I am a berry girl all the way, the room is decorated with all berry coloured and themed items and smells like berries. Lush.  You also get wipes before the treatment and to watch tv during the treatment. All in all it is worth the hefty price tag (Hollywood costs £50 ish - ouch) as you are left smooth and pain free.
Organics rapid tan
Spray Tan  - www.beautyretreatkent.com
I'll still do my own spray tan  I love Fake Bake Darker and Organic's rapid tan, neither goes orange on me, but then I apply a sensible amount, some salons do loads of coats and you leave looking like you have another heritage, I personally think that a pale white person does not need enough fake tan to make them look like Bob Marley! I go for the bronzed look but don't go crazy.

This leg is normally as white as the sheet

CND Spa Pedicure
This is my favourite thing to relax so I enlisted my lovely friend Louise at Polished in Orpington to do my pedicure at her new beauty room.  As that was a week ago today I applied Minxlusion Minx to my toes and then blinged  out the big toes with swarovski crystals. I love bling!

Pre-holiday skin

I have been regularly exfoliating with a sugar or salt scrub and then slathering myself in Palmers cocoa butter oil to make sure my skin isn't dry on the holiday, the more supple and moisturised your skin the better you tan and the better your skin looks in general.  Apply the oil to damp skin after a shower so you don't end i[ a greaseball.  I have been doing the same to my face, using radiance pads after cleansing to lightly exfoliate and then using facial oils under my moisturiser for added softness, my two faves have become Aromatherapy Associates and Collin Resultime facial oil.

So I am off now, will be back next Saturday so there will be no emailing, tweeting or blogging until then...how will I cope?!
