TOWIE Style

29 September 2011

I have trawled the internet from corner to corner to find as many clothes, beauty brands and items that the girls from TOWIE use for you perusal.  Hope this is helpful.

Lauren Goodger

Lauren has her own range of fake tan which includes a mousse, lotion, mitt and spray tan solution for professionals.  My review of the mousse is here Mousse tan review she has now branched out into clip in hair extensions which can be seen in the picture above (click to enlarge). You can buy all the products here Lauren's shop

Lauren is a lover of Gelish gel nail polish and has tweeted about it on a couple of occassions.

Lauren Pope

The other lovely Lauren also has her own range of hair extensions which have been available since 2007 called Hair Rehab  I was actually lucky enough to get a quote direct from Lauren confirming that if you see any pap pictures of her, such as above, she is wearing the extensions as she wears them every day! They look lovely and glossy.

Lauren's beauty secrets include Shellac UV3 polish for her nails and Mac shimmer powder as a highlight for nights out.

The shoes she is wearing in the picture above are from Lavish Alice as are some of the other items she has been wearing recently. She also wears Lipsy and AXParis.

Chloe Sims

MudDz

Chloe never seems to wear the same thing twice!  She has been spotten in everything from Forever Unique, to MudDz diamante wellies (love these) to items from Lovefromessex.  Here are some pics.

Chloe also has a range of vests, hoodies and cotton bags which are for sale on Toxic Fox Toxic Fox lips and lashes

Lydia Rose Bright

Lydia has her own fashion and lifestyle blog here http://misslydiarose.blogspot.com/  where she chats about fashion, her outfits and things she has been up to.

She is a fan of Biosculpture coloured gel manicures and goes to a lady called Loretta Sophia for them in Essex and gets her eyelash extensions at Jinny Lash.

She will have a fitness dvd out soom with Sam and Billie.

Gemma Collins

Gemma has recently lost weight by dieting and going to No1 Bootcamp (well done Gemma, loving the new hair too).  Gemma's hair was done at Mars and Venus salon in Brentwood, Essex.

She also likes a nice bracelet from Essex babe's favourite Jinkksy

Other places the girls like to shop

Sam and Billie's shop Minnie's Boutique will FINALLY open at midday on Friday 30th September (tomorrow)  here is the link http://minnies-boutique.co.uk/

Missguided is another favourite with the TOWIE lot and between you and me...there is a certain discount available tomorrow cough cough I can't say any more than that but check out the site tomorrow.  http://www.missguided.co.uk/  I wish I was shorter (the dresses are far too short on me at this height) but they are gorge!

So do you think TOWIE style is REEM? Or ....unReem?!!

The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gels

Watch out for these new fruity fragranced hand sanitiser gels from The Body Shop.  They are antibacterial and perfect to protect your hands from germs on public transport this Winter (Flu = sucks) and the best bits are they only cost £2 and they have scents like pink grapefruit, coconut, mango, strawberry, sweet lemon and satsuma, so much nicer than your usual hand sanitiser scents.

They are enriched with natural ingredients and are free from Triclosan which is very harsh (so it's a good thing they don't contain this).

I keep a sanitiser in my bag at all times so I hope they have these when I go  later today, as i'm not sure on the release date, but I shall let you know.

Dukan Diet Phase 2 Day 1

26 September 2011

For those that previously followed my Dukan Diet blog posts which can be seen here http://www.iheartcosmetics.co.uk/#uds-search-results this is an update.

I did well on holiday and only put on 3 pounds. Considering you put on weight quicker if you have previously been on a diet, especially if you scoff lovely Maxibon ice creams and paella in Tenerife,  that isn't too bad really.

I have decided to re-start the Dukan diet, starting again with the attack phase for 3 days (from today) and will carry on with the cruise phase after that until I am back down to 139lbs which hopefully shouldn't take too long.

I have also decided to cut back slightly on Beauty Retreat evening appointments so I can go to the gym more as at the moment I am so tired it isn't happening more than once a week, and I am unhappy with this, I do want to do lots of lovely appointments, but I don't want to overtire myself and make myself ill. I need a balance.

I have to say this is the easiest diet I have tried so far plus it made me realise that all of my sugar cravings were a vicious cycle and that as soon as I had eaten the marshmallows and chocolate and the sugar rush wore off, I just wanted some more and it was nothing to do with the taste of the foods or me actually loving them.

It made me realise which foods I really really do enjoy eating and which I was just eating for energy or a sugar rush because I was tired.  I have realised that I am really not that into bread at all, I do enjoy a nice toasted bagel with peanut butter, but didn't miss sandwiches one bit.  I really enjoyed the pasta dish I had in Tenerife with black pasta (squid ink?) and a shrimp and squid sauce, but realised that I was having it far too often at home, and it's nice to save it for a treat.

The Last Supper

Last night I treated myself to a takeaway curry with Matt as a sort of 'last supper' as we realised we hadn't had a takeaway curry for about 5 or 6 months and the only thing in the fridge was some strange paprika burgers where I had bought the wrong ones as all the tesco ones look so similar.  The Taj in Orpington does a very tasty chicken tikka biryani, so we both had that.

Today's eats.

Breakfast - Oatbran porridge with fat free yoghurt
Snack - fat free yoghurt
Lunch - two boiled eggs and a tin of mackerel
Snack - fat free fromage frais
Dinner - Tuna with chopped red onion

New skincare range by Kleenex

25 September 2011

If you think of the brand Kleenex you'd probably associate it with tissues as they are the number one brand in the UK  but they actually started out as beauty products back in 1924.  The tissues were made to remove ladies cold cream.

This month sees them going back to their roots and bringing out four sets of wipes.  The range includes Facial Cloths which are for removing your cleanser, facemask, nail varnish or to use as super soft tissues.  Then there are the Facial Cleansing and Eye Makeup Remover wipes and the Shine Absorbing Sheets - which are blotting papers used to remove shine from the skin without damaging makeup.  RRP £1.99-2.99 for all products.
Overall I was very impressed with the range especially considering the very low price of them all.  The eye makeup remover wipes are very thorough and removed even waterproof mascara, the facial wipes removed all of my foundation and base products leaving my skin feeling very clean, I certainly think it managed to remove every scrap of makeup and left my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

Very thorough!

The wipes have a very light scent and do not sting or make my skin feel stripped, I think they would be good therefore for sensitive skin. I also found them much softer and deeper cleaning than other wipes.  For comparison my Mac wipes are much thinner.

The Kleenex Facial Cloths are a great idea to replace your cotton wool but I have to say I used them as tissues.  I know this might sound odd but when I have a cold my nose gets so sore and red that the skin starts flaking around my nose and I end up having to cover it up with either vaseline or Lucas' PawPaw ointment just so my skin isn't red raw.  But using these facial cloths as tissues is amazing, they are the softest thing ever!  I also think they would be great for cleaning your kids faces as they are so amazingly soft and much nicer than cotton wool or regular tissues which I find so dry and scratchy, even those balm ones - I mean have you ever felt any softness or balm on them? I haven't.

I can't say I was that amazed by the oil blotting sheets in comparisons to other oil blotting sheets but considering how cheap they are I would certainly give these a go if you use blotting papers regularly as they are very reasonable.  For me, they just can't beat my Clean and Clear oil blotting papers so they will still remain me favourite.
You can find the Kleenex Skincare range in Superdrug from September and they will be available in all leading retailers from next January.  I will personally be stocking up on the makeup remover wipes for when I am at the gym and the facial tissues as they are a must have.

Disclaimer: Products mentioned were sent for consideration for review, I was not paid for this post

Top of the Frozen Yoghurt Pops

24 September 2011

I love frozen yoghurt, I love it love it love it! It tastes nicer than ice cream to me and oh so creamy and nom nom fat free nom!

I have tried soo many different places and flavours, from Yuforia in Covent Garden to Snog.  But my hands down two favourite places are

The Runner Up - Pinkberry at Selfridges

Pinkberry is from the USA and is a massive chain over there.  Here in the UK it can be found in the food hall at Selfridges and they have some regular flavours and then coconut and watermelon.  The chocolate here is almost as good as yoomoo and that is the most difficult flavour to capture so I was impressed.  The service was good and the staff friendly and polite.  The yoghurt wasn't quite as generous or as reasonably priced as Yoomoo, another reason it was marked down.

Overall the central location and interesting flavours make this a fine runner up.  Bravo Pinkberry.

The Winner

Yoomoo was founded by two UK girls and is the overall winner for being creamy, delicious, naughtier tasting than ice cream but fat free, looking and tasting a bit like a Mr Whippy and being generally the best thing in the known universe.  You can even treat yourself to a Yoomoo at Harrods! It comes in a funky bowl as above, although that did look strangely like a bidet....

Locations are in Canary Wharf and also in Westfield Derby and Bluewater.

If you don't try anywhere else give Yoomoo a go, I could happily eat this all day every day.  For comparison this makes snog taste like 0/10.

Hope this helps!

Dita Von Teese Nails By Kiss

21 September 2011

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese launched a line of stick on nails this month that will get you her signature half moon manicure without faffing about.

Kiss nails teamed up with Dita to create her famous red nails complete with a silvery moon. The Dita Von Teese Nail Set will include medium length nails reflecting the elegance of the old Hollywood style and even the box is a departure from Kiss' usual pink and red box.
The nail can be purchased from her website at $9.99, I am not sure if they ship to the UK but I want to try them! They look fabulous.
You may not know this but I absolutely adore Dita, she is gorgeous, confident and certainly comes across as someone who knows what she wants, which is always sexy.

Trilogy Skincare Giveaway

I absolutely love all of the Trilogy products I have tried and love that Trilogy Sensitive Skin contains unique formulations of pure natural ingredients chosen for their soothing and non-sensitising properties including: Calendula, Chamomile, Marshmallow, Evening Primrose, Olive and Avocado. Boots 17 Autumn

Fast Finish Nail Polish in Fury, Sulk and Revenge £2.99

The matching metallic range includes three eyeshadow trios and three nail polishes, all based on colours from the Autumn / Winter 2011 catwalk for an on-trend makeover. I haven't tried the shadows yet but here are swatches of the nail varnishes.

Is it me, or does that look quite like Chanel Paradoxal?

I really like all three colours and for the price point I think the quality is fabulous. Use with Seche Vite topcoat and Orly bonder and basecoat for a perfect mani.

What do you think of the swatches?

Current Favourites

18 September 2011

Stila Golightly Eyeshadow
I had forgotten how much I love Stila eyeshadows, if you can't afford Rouge Bunny Rouge then pick some of these up.  Super pigmented, soft and easy to blend they are perfect.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
I love this new mascara! It lengthens, volumises, lifts, separates and is soo soo black. Love it.

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer #2
Always a staple this is to cover up the spots I seem to have acquired whilst testing out professional facial ranges for Beauty Retreat, unfortunately I hated them all and they gave me spots....back to the drawing board!

Mac Golden Bronzer
Staple in the makeup bag, I love this and use it very often.

Liz Earle Sheer Tint
I have been using this almost every day since they sent it to me, it's fabulous!

Tarte Tipsy Cream Blusher Stick
Straight outta the USA Tarte is a brand I love and we just don't get it here.  I love the Tipsy blusher stick thing, just swipe, blend and go and it smells fruity.  I want the True blood one as well but no such luck, maybe when I go to Vegas I can stock up.

What products are you currently loving?

Tresor Paris Bracelet Review

17 September 2011

Tresor Paris Bracelet

I was perusing the shops at Bluewater shopping centre and something sparkly caught my eye in the jewellers near to Yo Sushi.  I turned around and went in and found a display of the most gorgeous and blingy bracelets by the brand Tresor Paris.

I was in love! I tried on a number of different colours in the Orion style but settled on the black string and the pale gold diamantes (the shade is called Cannes).  I wear this bracelet daily, not usually with my watch as above you can see they don't match fantastically, but I had trouble photographing it on the other wrist.

Shellac nails in Wildfire, Zara ballet flats

So there I was thinking I had a cool new accessory but upon googing it appears that everyone has them from Justin Biebeer and Emma Watson to TOWIE crew and Nicole Scherzinger.  Ah well, at least I am in good company!

What I will say though is go to a properly jewellers online or in person and get one that is authentic as there are so many fakes.

Check out all the Tresor bracelets online here: www.tresorparis.com mine was £149

Do you have a Tresor Paris bracelet?

Monthly Beauty Boxes - are they a waste of cash?

16 September 2011

I try not to be negative on this blog but holy flipping batman the incessant goings on about monthly beauty boxes is driving me nuts!  There seem to be a million, all trying to fight it out to the death! Should we have an X Factor style judging panel? I wouldn't be surprised if there is a MCBeauty Box soon closely followed by a flame grilled BKBeautybox, either that or my dead hamster will bring out one.

They compete on content, price, look and packaging of box, the consumers they already have if they are from an online store and so on and zzzzz. They're tweeting,  they're on all the blogs, they're on online magazines, women's magazines and frankly...

I HAVE STARTED TO HATE THEM ALL!

I have tried quite a few of them, and ok, when it's free (like all samples) a nice box of stuff arrives, you use it a bit then do your review (or not if the product's really shite and the pr company are likely to send you the email version of a trip to the headmasters office and a roundhouse kick to the face if you say their clients are the load of carp that they really are).

Well let me say this, having thought long and hard about whether I would be happy with these boxes if I had spent my hard earned money on them I have to say no.  The only things I have used from the beauty boxes past the few days after I received them are...wait....let me think....erm....nothing! I either give the stuff away or as is the case in the spare room, there is just a random box full of stuff sitting there ready for giveandmakeup.

I have realised that I just I don't want a load of crap in a box that I will most likely never use or lose because it's so flipping tiny.  Then there are the ones that contain sachets. I do NOT like sachets!  In fact I detest them, you either get one use or you try and use it more than once and they're oozing out of the sachet all down the side of the sink.

Perhaps it's because it's been a long week, that I don't like surprises, perhaps it's just that I like moaning, or am a spoilt cow? (stop nodding) but I really see no point in signing up to any of these month on month vs saving up your money and just buying things based on blog and internet reviews and pictures, swatching or testing in store or buying tester size samples on ebay for £1 or so for things you actually want to use!

I am sure there are plenty of people that love these flipping boxes but this is just my personal opinion.

So the questions is - do you disagree or agree?

Viva....Las Vegas!

14 September 2011

Having just come back from a holiday which was my first since 2008 I swiftly decided that I was letting life pass me by, having wanted to go to America for years and being 27 already next year I figured I needed to hurry up and save up and go! I have wanted to go since I was 15.

So today I booked us 4 nights in fabulous Las Vegas for the end of next April!  To say I am excited would be the understatement of the year.

We will be staying at the Mirage hotel and casino and I already have a few plans of what we want to do while we are there:

Matt wants to do the CSI thing at the MGM
Cheesecake factory
IHop
Bellagio Fountains
Shopping at Venetian
Gondola at Venetian
Dolphins at the Mirage
Stratosphere rollercoaster
Buffets...loads of them!

But this post is really to ask for your help, if you have been to Vegas on holiday then please do comment below with any tips or any info at all, I would love it! I want to cram as much into 4 days as I can.

Thank you!

Holiday Beauty Products

11 September 2011

Holiday Makeup Kit

I didn't want to overload the suitcase with makeup and I had to be practical and make sure that the makeup would work for day, night and all the colours and shades would tone together to save space.

The colour scheme that I like for holiday is definitely warm toned - for day it's more glossy lips and glossy cheeks with lots of mascara, for evening more matte with bronzer and metallic eyeshadows.  Lips and cheeks are generally orange, coral or peach and eyes are either nude, brown or golden. Slap on the mascara and job done!

Face
Korres tinted moisturiser, Makeup Forever Waterproof Concealer, Stila Convertible Colour, Korres Monoi Bronzer and the Body Shop Honey Bronze liqid bronzer, Mac Studio Rose and Mac pressed powder.

I love Korres Monoi bronzer, it is the perfect red brown shade and you can just slap loads on and it never looks too much or muddy, Stila Convertible Colour in Gladiola is a must have for me, perfect on lips and cheeks and such a gorgeous brightening colour to enhance any sort of tan, I love it!  I used Benefit's highbeam nearly every day to highlight my browbone and cheekbones as it is really the BEST highlighter I have ever found with a pink tone, hands down the gold/bronze one that is my fave is Dior amber diamond but the pink toned one is highbeam no question.

Eyes

1 Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow, mac 4 pan palette with Modelette, Vanilla, that bright orange which I have no idea the name of and Brown Down, a khaki Illamasqua eyeshadow dust and Nars Mekong eyeshadow single pretty much covered all looks.  The Urban Decay eyeshadow primer to stop them slipping off and L'oreal Voluminous mascara in black.  HD palette for eyebrows is a must as it doesn't budge.

Lips

Lipstick always melts on me when I go on holiday so I stick to gloss. Peaches, golds and corals go with the rest of my makeup.  I went for Mac lip gelee in Saplicious which I adore, Estee Lauder's Michael Kors collaboration lipgloss in peach (my fave lip product ever) which is discontinued and Korres's orange shimmery lipgloss which is absolutely amazing.

Perfume
I always buy a holiday perfume at the airport to become the scent of the holiday, but I was shocked by how everything was so expensive that this time I went for one of the Victoria Secret body sprays. Mine is the red one which is called Wild Scarlet and is very fruity (the vanilla was for my mum). Why is duty free more expensive than Boots? I was so confused. Oh well! It was nice to get another Victoria Secret spray as they are the only body sprays I like to use.

And that's all from me for today!  I do miss this view............
