How to make turkey burgers

6 March 2012

You will need

1 packet of lean turkey mince (around 500g)
4 spring onions - snip them up with kitchen scissors to save time
1/2 tsp herbs (I use chilli flakes)
1 clove of garlic, minced (or finely chopped)
1 egg white
Splash of olive oil if needed

Mix everything together well in a big bowl and season with salt and pepper.  Divide the mixture and combine with your hands and shape into burger shaped patties, I keep mine small so they cook through easily.

As they contain a little oil I just dry fried them.  Heat the pan for a few minutes and then put the burgers in the frying pan and cook for 5 minutes on 1 side then flip over and cook the other side.  You can tell they are cooked through if you press down with a spatula on the burger and the juices that come out are clear not bloody (mm lovely haha).

Perfect if you are healthy eating, if you like turkey, in a bun, in a sandwich, with a salad or you can even shape them onto sticks and grill them like a kebab.

Easy peasy!
