Current Favourite - L'Oreal Elnett Heat Protect Spray Curls

10 November 2012

I had my extensions/weave put into my hair 2 weeks ago now and since they are pretty long I have needed to straighten or curl them to give them some sort of style (this may sound weird if you have thick hair but my natural hair is so thin that I can just blow dry it straight and it won't hold a curl so my hair just sort of does it's own thing).  This means that my heat protection spray  old as I hardly ever used it that I wanted a new one.

I went to Boots and was about to grab the Tresemme heat protection spray that everyone seems to use but then out of the corner of my eye I saw Elnett had a big display showing their three new heat protection sprays, Straight, Volume or Curl.  I decided to grab one instead as it looked good, I knew the reputation of Elnett hairspray was fabulous and that is the only hairspray I ever use so I figured it was a good bet.

Was I right? HELL YEAH! I bought the curl version. This is the best heat protection spray I have ever used hands down.  I can 100% confirm the claim that your curls will last up to 3 days if you use this as mine did exactly that.  I have also used this when I have straightened my hair and it worked just fine for that too.

All three formulations have up to 230° heat defence and lock-in sleek, straight or wavy hairstyles for up to 3 days. All you need to do is Spray on damp hair and blow dry. Job done!

The spray is really fine and light, just a few spritzes concentrating on the ends to avoid damage before you blow dry and curl and you are sorted.  My hair was soft and satiny, not at all crispy or like using a hairspray.  I noticed the review from someone on the Boots website saying that their hair was crispy when they used this but I presume they must have used way too much product as mine wasn't crispy at all.  The smell is similar to the hairspray which I am so used to having used it for so long and my mum using it that I find the smell comforting but I can't really explain it if you know what I mean? It just smells of Elnett!

Overall this gets a 10/10 from me and, while I will repurchase, I can't see that being for ages as the bottle is a huge 170ml for £3.99 L'oreal website info
Your style just got hotter.
