Top 3 Summer Lip Picks
Summer means light textures and peach and coral colours to me. I focus on my eyes in the daytime and stick to something moisturising and sheer for lips as my work air conditioning is fierce! If I’m out in the evening however, I like to bring the focus to my lips.
For Summer 2016 I’ve been loving lip oils, they’ve even replaced my obsession with lipgloss, which is saying something!
Lancôme Juicy Shaker 6.5ml RRP £18.00
The Lancôme Juicy Shakers are tinted lip oils in a bi-phase formula with oil and colour that you shake to mix. They are packaged in a small shaker with a sponge tip applicator. I love that the packaging looks like a mini cocktail shaker! The applicator is a cushioned sponge and feels really nice on the lips. The colour and oil mix together well. I love the colour, scent and feel of Freedom Of Peach. The shade has a very light peach tinge and a gorgeous peach scent. Each different shade has a corresponding smell so if you don’t like peach there’s plenty of others to try. I love the applicator and it’s so easy to use you don’t need a mirror. They are currently cheaper to buy at All Beauty.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil RRP £19.00
This is more of a treatment than a ‘lip colour’. Use on the beach or at night for lovely soft and smooth lips. The doe foot applicator is huge and cushioned so feels really soft and is great when your lips are sore, sunburned or chapped. It’s super shiny so I use this in the daytime as well as it just looks like a clear gloss but it’s really meant as a more moisturising and soothing product. It’s not really sticky but it is quite thick. So if you don’t need a soothing type of product this probably won’t be too useful for you as it will essentially just be a clear gloss.
Again this is much cheaper with one of my fave websites All Beauty. (This isn’t sponsored btw I just always try and save money and use them)!
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Tell Laura RRP £23.00
This lipstick is part of Charlotte Tilbury’s highly-anticipated Hot Lips collection – a collaboration between 12 influential females. Tell Laura is a fresh, geranium red with a hint of coral. My fave summer lipstick colour. I wore it to Goodwood Races recently. Here’s a picture of me wearing the lipstick. It was inspired by stunning British model and contributing Vogue editor, Laura Bailey. I love the colour-rich formula as it glides on effortlessly and I love the texture which is quite creamy so is still hydrating. I was slightly baffled that it’s supposed to be a ‘modern-matte’ finish… it’s not matte on me. Please don’t expect this to be a Kylie lip kit matte if you’re wanting to buy it!
As it’s CT I obviously couldn’t find anywhere to buy it with a discount, I got mine from Net a Porter but you can get it at Selfridges too.
So these are my faves, what are your summer lip picks? Do you prefer oil, gloss, liquid or lipsticks?
