The Sanctuary Spa have developed this at-home treatment inspired by the hugely popular ‘Perfectly Polished Pedicure’ Spa treatment which you can have at their Covent Garden Spa.
I was sent this to review and got stuck in with all the bits and bobs in the hope of callus free tootsies. The Sanctuary version is a lot cheaper and easier to get hold of so you might be more interested if you liked the look of the that.
The kit includes:
45ml tube of Callus Treatment Gel
4 large patches (for heel of the foot)
4 small patches (for ball of the foot)
2 pairs latex gloves
1 callus file
Kit contains enough for 2 full applications for both feet.
Step one is to put on your latex gloves, remove the backing paper from one of the larger patches. Squeeze approximately 5ml of the Callus Treatment Gel across the centre of the patch in a diagonal pattern and around the edges of the padded area as you can see in the picture below.
Step two is to place the patch with the gel directly onto the heel and use the sticky edges to hold the patch in place. Then keep doing it with the smaller patch onto the ball of the foot. Repeat process on the other foot.
Leave for 15 minutes.
Step Three Carefully peel away the pads and place in the bin. Using the hooked edge of the callus file, firmly scrape away the gel and excess skin, and file the area to ensure all the dead skin has been completely removed.
Rinse feet thoroughly ensuring all the traces of The Sanctuary Callus Treatment Gel have been removed. Apply any foot moisture product to ensure feet are soft and beautiful.
Results – my results were great, and I was happy that the scraping tool also had a file on it just to get off those last bits of dry skin that the callus peel had softened but not quite dissolved.
My feet were really baby soft and smooth after using this and it doesn’t hurt or sting at all. You do have to sit still for 15-20 minutes but it’s definitely worth it and it gets off a lot more dry skin than just using a foot file which I personally find a bit gross and exhausting doing all that cheese grating away at my foot!
I would recommend this to anyone especially those who like to wear flip flops or sandals that show the heel as my heels were amazingly soft and smooth after using this as the pads fit on the heel excellently and they are sticky so they don’t fall off. I would also recommend this if you have a friend or family member who is quite old, like your Nan. Older people ofen have very dry feet and this is an easy way for them to soften dry skin as files etc. can be a bit difficult and often older people don’t have spare money for a salon pedicure or it just isn’t their sort of thing so this would be a nice gift.
I did look like my feet had been mummified but it was definitely worth it and I would recommend doing a treatment like this once a month to upkeep your feet and help them stay soft and smooth. A pedicure at my local salon that does a callus peel along with the treatment is £45 so this product is definitely good value.
