Natural Shower Gel Reviews

There are a lot of natural shower gels or body washes around but these are the four that I have used the most in the last 4 weeks so I wanted to review these first. I am on a mission to switch up my products to natural versions, without compromising the quality of the non-natural products I was using and to be honest quite liking. I wanted to try quite a few that I was sent (i did buy two of the ones pictured below) and save the reviews for one post as hopefully it’s more helpful than me reviewing them all separately.

Balance Me Ginger and Lime Shower Gel

Balance me info – Certified organic by Eco Cert

Price – a fullsize 250ml is £10.00

Buy from – Whole Foods or lovelula

Scent – Lime and ginger, but not a good version of either. I know scent is a personal think but I absolutely can’t stand this smell – its disgusting!!

Overall

I would never repurchase this scent, it makes my stomach turn. I would however try a different scent as the shower gel itself was good and the travel size is good for the gym as it didn’t leak. I did feel clean after using but not very moisturised, I think there are better shower products than this one.

Naked Orange Blossom Body Wash

Naked info – 97% natural product suitable for vegetarians and vegans

Price – 250ml is £3.99

Buy from – Boots or Naked Bodycare

Scent – Orange blossom-ish

Overall

I really like the way it cleans my body and the scent. It is very well priced and the packaging is ok, well it’s not beige! I hate beige. I don’t really like the lid as it’s difficult to control how much comes out so I just unscrew the whole thing, which defeats the object slightly. Apart from that I really enjoyed using this product. The only thing I didn’t like was that it contains Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate in place of any parabens which is a known eye irritant, not that I would suggest putting shower gel in your eye. That would be a bit stupid. But stuff happens so keep your eyes closed if you feel like busting a move in the shower whilst wildy swinging your shower pouff in the air like you just don’t care! This is a brilliant option if you are on a budget.

Green and Spring Revitalising Shower and Bath Foam

Green and Spring Info – products are naturally free from artificial colours, fragrances, parabens, SLS, SLES, PEGs, petrochemicals and have not been tested on animals. Handmade in the British Isles.

Price – 300ml is £18.00

Buy from – Lookfantastic or green and spring

Scent – This smells gorgeous – at £18 I would be pissed off if it didn’t! It contains sweet orange which is gorgeous as well as peppermint, grapefruit and aniseed. It definitely lives up to it’s revitalising name and makes you feel pretty zingy in the shower.

Overall

I really find the packaging beautiful and is nice enough to give as a present, the top is easy to use and dispenses a good amount of product. I like how my skin feels after using this as it isn’t too dry and doesn’t feel ‘stripped’. If money was no object I would get through this by the bucketload. A nice lather but not too over the top, this feels very luxurious.

Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Shea Butter Body Wash

Burts Bees info

Price – 350ml is £9.99

Buy from – Lookfantastic, Burts Bees Website or Boots

Scent – A comforting blend of milky vanilla and shea butter. Gorgeous.

Overall

This was my favourite overall due to the cost per amount in the bottle, the yummy scent and the fact that my skin was not irritated at all and was left really soft and moisturised afterwards. This does lather but you need a pouff or ‘shower mop’. Oh come on it’s a pouff and we all know it is. The scent lasts on the skin for a few hours which I really like and is perfect if you like warming sweet scents.

So that was round one. I will now commence with round two and update in around 3 weeks after testing them all out properly.

In the meantime I still can’t get over how disgusting the lime and ginger one smells!

Do you have any recommendations of any natural shower products to try? I am allergic to lavender fyi x
