Clarins Barocco Winter Collection 2010, The Wolsely

On Thursday I had quite a few nice places to go so I decided it was the perfect opportunity to try out the Clarins Barocco collection items I was sent.  The packaging on all of the items is stunning and the lipstick and eyeshadow palette are now firm favourites of mine and the two items I would definitely recommend. The baked dome eyeshadows are smooth and very easy to blend, I used the gold on the lid, grey/gold in the crease and the black over my Urban Decay 24-7 liner to set it.  I then used the lipstick lightly as a stain (I have applied it with a lipbrush below in the swatch so you can see the pigmentation) and the face palette with both shades mixed together as a blush.  Overall the face palette is the one thing that I would say to give a miss as the packaging is so so heavy, I accidentally dropped it on my toe and OMG that hurt like hell! You wouldn’t be able to take it in your handbag on a night out let’s put it that way.

I went to the Wolsely with a gorgeous girlie who didn’t want to be photographed hence why the top of the cake stand has been cut off in the picture!  The Wolsely is a lovely place to go for tea but it’s much more for someone who likes people spotting, ambience and possible celeb sightings – i’d stick to going here with friends or younger people rather than treating your mum or nan etc. to a birthday tea as it is pretty loud.  I had a lovely time and it was such a shame I had to run off as I could have chatted for hours.

The gorgeous Winter 2010 Barocco collection from Clarins is definitely a collection focussing on seasonal opulence. The packaging alone is enough to make it lustworthy and the mix of rich blacks, golds and reds combines
elegance and glamour inspired by the richness of Baroque design.
