Katy Perry – Purr

A new album, a tour launch, X Factor, a Wedding in India and a honeymoon in Mauritius aren’t enough for our girl Katy, oh no.   She launches her debut fragrance, Purr, in the UK on
12 November 2010.  The fragrance is a rich eau de parfum with top notes of fresh citrus, peach nectar and apple, with mid tones of a
delicate floral bouquet supported by notes of jasmine blossom and pink
freesia and dries down into a rich scent with vanilla orchid and
sandalwood

(so far so poncey perfume speak) Katy Perry designed the bottle for her first fragrance
herself giving the designers a detailed hand drawn sketch (how detailed can a cat be)??. This drawing
was then crafted into the signature scent bottle complete with jewelled
eyes, metallic accents and lavender colouring.

Purr will launch in two
sizes, a 50ml priced at £37.50 and 100ml priced at £51.00 with bodylines
set to launch from January 2011. Purr, by Katy Perry will be available
exclusively from Selfridges on 12th November and available for one week ahead of its national roll out
from Saturday 20th November.

Now I admit to being a saddo because I REALLY want one, I really really do! The bottle isn’t classy or sophisticated like I normally go for, it’s a purple cat for goodness sakes but I love the tacky appeal it has and with its bling eyes oh dear, it’s so wrong but I really like it.

As for the perfume, well the description has totally baffled me, so I’ll be there on the 12th having a sniff with everyone else, and apparently Mrs Brand herself will be at Selfridges London at some point to meet and greet and sign bottles. Get in! I’ve actually never had anything signed before…
