Today’s post is a question for you:
Some of you may know about my mobile spray tanning business www.bronzedglow.com but if not to cut a long story short I provide a spray tanning service directly in people’s homes to save them having to leave the house. While I am chatting to the clients as I set up/pack away or if the client has had the tan before so we have more time to talk as I don’t have to explain the procedure, I often ask them a few questions – not to be nosy but to ensure their needs are met, and to see if I can give advice or learn something myself.
Overall the main point people say to me, on their first appointment before we do anything is something along the lines of :
“don’t make me look like Jordan”, “I just want it to look natural” and “it won’t look too dark/orange will it?”
So far so normal…however this month’s main beauty observation is that after a few goes with anything – tanning, eyelashes etc. etc. most people change their tolerance level, for example they say to me “can we go a bit dark on the tan”, “loved the tan but just want it to be a bit more obvious”. These are the same people who to start of with wanted things natural!
So what I want to ask you is do you think people are scared to admit to me that actually, they don’t want to look natural at all and like a bit of fakery? Or after they have been using a product or service for a while, they get used to the effects and just want more/brighter/darker etc.
All opinions very welcome.
Also if you are in the UK, Kent and South East London in particular I would love it if you could come and ‘Like’ my Facebook page for Bronzed Glow. I will be looking for some eyelash extension models at some point during 2011 who will be provided with a full set of lashes in return for me taking pictures of the lash work I have done, so if you join the page I will update the details there.
And to all that celebrate – Merry Christmas
