A few weeks ago I bought Maybelline’s new foundation Instant Anti Age The Eraser Perfect Cover Foundation and as it was on 3 for 2 I got The Smoother foundation primer as well.
Let’s start with The Smoother Foundation Primer.
It is like laminating your face! It feels thick and sticky and made my skin feel mega itchy. However it did make my foundation go on well, nice and smooth and with a good finish. Then when I took it off my skin was really dry and again pretty itchy. That coupled with the unsanitary way it’s in a jar rather than a tube mean that I gave it away. Eeew. 1/10
The foundation packaging – the tube and brush/wand seemed like it could be a good idea but I found that the foundation rubbed itself off as I was trying to apply it to my face and I ended up using my fingers to spread it around my face. The consistency of the foundation is bizarre, very thin but very very greasy! I presume this is because it is an anti ageing foundation but just because you’re older doesn’t mean you want greasy skin!
I do wonder if the fuzzy wand can be sanitary, it says that it has anti bacterial properties but does that really mean anything? Who knows. Still makes me feel a bit icky rubbing it on my face.
Overall another 1/10.
