Soap and Glory Sexy Motherpucker Extreme Plumo
Duwop Lip Venom
Too Faced Lip Injection
Laura Mercier Lip Plumper
Dior Addict Lip Maximiser
I love lip plumping and lip enhancing treatments and, unlike ‘botox in a bottle’ products you can buy for your wrinkles, lots of lip plumping products actually work and give a noticeable effect so you can get big pouty lips without any surgical interference!
How Do Lip Plumpers Work?
Many products use cinnamon oil or spicy based ingredients to irritate the lips and increase blood supply to the lips to make them red and plump.
My Top Lip Plumpers
If you are looking for a full on lip filler effect then give one of these a go, there is a burn when you apply them, but then they do give a much plumper effect, it’s a trade-off, so if you’re a believer in ‘no pain no gain’ beauty… test these out. If not, scroll down for a new and less burn-inducing lip plumping product.
Don’t Want To Feel The Burn?
What’s the Difference with EnvyDerm?
Envyderm’s lip plumping products claim to only make their products out of natural and not synthetic ingredients that plump your lips without the sticky feeling and no burn. I tested out the EnvyDerm Intense Lip Renewal Therapy and Envyderm Lip Volumising and Conditioning Plumper Lipgloss (not sponsored links), the links are to Jica which is the only website you can order them from in the UK as they are an American brand.
The EnvyDerm products contain peptides to help the production of collagen, which make lips smoother and more youthful looking, moisturising oils to smooth and soften lips and spearmint oil which is a natural gentle irritant which increases the blood supply to the lip area which naturally plumps up the lips without burning or tingling. It gently creates a similar effect as the cinnamon oil, and for everyday, I much prefer the slight tingle of the mint oil to the burn of cinnamon, as although the burn does become a bit addictive, it is a bit of a problem if you give someone a kiss!
|EnvyDerm Fleur Shimmer|
I love the Intense Lip Renewal as I can use it in place of a lip balm and it’s more of a minty lip moisturiser than a balm, it smooths and softens the lips, even in this dry Winter weather and it can be used alone throughout the day or underneath lipstick to help the application look smoother.
The glosses come in some gorgeous colours,a lot seem similar to the Buxom Lips glosses but with the addition of the lip plumping ingredients. I tried Fleur Shimmer and it’s a perfect peachy neutral that looks good with a tan or with brown and warm toned makeup, it’s a lot sheerer on the lip than it looks in the tube. The applicator wand is great and so easy to use you don’t even need a mirror.
These are more subtle plumping glosses but I think they are great for everyday and for the fact that you obviously ingest some of the product as it’s on your lips and they contain only natural ingredients. I would say that they definitely do plump up the lips but it’s only the lipgloss where I think the plumping effect is noticeable enough to make a friend comment on the difference. It would be nice if they had some clinical data to back up their claims of 37% fuller plumper lips that is on their website.
The gloss costs £18.95 and the lip renewal therapy £28.95. I think the gloss is really the must-buy from the range as it’s a great price for a gloss and a lip plumper in one.
