I’m always on the lookout for a new foundation. I want it to make me look radiant, flawless and younger, so a bottle of liquid Photoshop basically! The search is never ending and it is so hard to find a foundation that does everything you want it to do.
With Gucci makeup being the most exciting brand launch to me right now I decided to treat myself in Heathrow Terminal 5 at World Duty Free as with 20% off, and I couldn’t wait to try it out on the plane as soon as I had it.
The Packaging
At first glance I thought the packaging was gorgeous, exactly what I would want from Gucci, a nice heavy matte glass bottle that you can easily see the colour of the foundation through, with a great pump (gold naturally), and a monogrammed Gucci black lid.

The Foundation
I love the consistency of the foundation as it is quite thin, not oily but just a bit runny which makes it so easy to blend and it’s also very pigmented. You do need to give the bottle a good shake before applying and then I dot it on my face and blend either with the Real Techniques beauty blender style sponge or with a foundation brush.
It dries to a luminous but matte finish that really surprised me, usually a foundation is either matte or dewy, this gives the radiance of a dewy foundation but is matte. I don’t know how they do it but it looks brilliant and has an SPF 25 which is much better than Tom Ford’s SPF15 offering.

The coverage in my opinion is medium, good for small spots, thread veins, under eye circles, eyelid discolouration and any redness, you would still need concealer for acne, bigger spots, or scars.
Overall
I was very impressed, this is the quality and effect of foundation I was hoping for and I think the foundation is beautiful. I have fairly light skin but matched with shade 040! There are plenty of shades available so hopefully it shouldn’t be too hard to find one to match you. Hands down my current favourite foundation. 10/10.
