Fake Bake Five Minute Mousse Review
I love fake tan. I am naturally very pale and even if I wanted to get a natural tan I live in England so it’s just not possible. I usually spray tan but sometimes, let’s be completely honest I don’t have the energy to get the tent and machine out!
My favourite mousse tan at one point was the Cocoa Brown tan but it’s been usurped by the Fake Bake 5 minute mousse. Call me fickle but I don’t stick with a product if I can find a better version.
The Fake Bake Five Minute Mousse is really easy to apply, remember to use a mitt. You need to use a mousse tan with a mitt whatever brand it’s from. Try and wear washing up gloves or latex gloves under the mitt so the tan doesn’t soak through and stain.
Moisturise your hands and feet, knees and elbows with an oil free moisturiser. This is so these dryer areas don’t absorb more tan than than the rest of you. Use the mitt to apply your mousse in sweeping strokes wherever you want to tan and then buff in. The texture is much lighter than most other brands and it’s really easy to cover large areas quickly. I found it really easy to ensure there were no streaks or patches but do check thoroughly in a full length mirror. The tan dries really quickly.
The shade of the Fake Bake Five Minute Mousse is brown toned rather than red or orange so looks natural. Once you shower after 6-8 hours later or overnight you have a lovely bronze glow. The colour is natural and golden brown.
The body polish is gentle but effective and is great to use the day before you tan to prepare the skin. It doesn’t contain oil so won’t leave a film on the skin which could affect the tanning process.
The moisturiser has been a favourite over the years. When I had my spray tan business I used to have a salon sized bottle of this and everyone loved it. It is hydrating and a fast absorbing moisturiser formulated without oil which can prevent the absorption of self-tan products.
I really recommend the Fake Bake 5 Minute Mousse and the Oil Free Moisturiser. If you’re looking for an oil free scrub I do like this one but it is a bit pricey.
