3d Lipo Review
Today I will be talking about 3-D liposuction. People are interested in hearing more about this treatment as regular liposuction is expensive. 3-D liposuction is cheaper and less invasive. It is suitable for getting rid of stubborn pockets of fat such as saddlebags or mummy tummy that a lot of women worry about.
Only One Treatment So Far
I just wanted to make you aware, first of all that I have only had one treatment so far. I will give my personal view and provide information on how 3-D liposuction works but I have not had an entire course of treatments.
I would definitely have another treatment in the future and think I will book one in for when I get back from Australia. My work have cancelled our gym contract and I can’t start a new one until 1st February!
Where did you get it done?
I went to pro skin clinic at Liverpool Street station which is really convenient for those of us working in London. I have been to pro skin clinics before and been very impressed with the staff, the clinics and the service. Previously I had laser hair removal treatments.
3-D lipo is called that because it gives a 3 pronged approach to fat loss, cellulite reduction and skin tightening using two of the latest forms of fat reduction technology called ultrasound cavitation and cryolipolysis which is fat freezing.
How does it work?
This technology is widely recognised as some of the most effective cellulite reduction and localised fat loss techniques available, there is also no need to immediately exercise post treatment in order to obtain results such as you have to do if you have some other fat removal treatments or laser Lipo.
The treatments available for 3-D liposuction clients are Cryolipolysis which is the main tool for overall circumference reduction aka fat freezing which is ideal for targeting specific problem areas for fat removal, radio frequency for skin tightening on face and body and Ultrasound Cavitation which is effectively fat melting for the face and body which also helps with cellulite.
Cryo-What?
Cryogenic lipolysis is the latest technology in non-surgical fat reduction. It is based on the principle that fat cells in the body are destroyed by low-temperature where is the skin is more resilient.
Fat cells are targeted through the skin using a special vacuum device, skin and fatty tissue is aspirated and body fat is frozen to about -5°.
Frozen fat?
This results in the destruction of fat cells without any damage to the overlying skin, the fat cells die and are removed by the body over the course of 2 to 4 months. The treatment is safe with very few side-effects there may be some redness or numbness in the area you have had treated.
Ultrasound cavitation
This is great for achieving more definition to your thighs and waist. Ultrasound waves are used to rupture the cell membrane causing the cell to turn into liquid which is then processed away by the body naturally. Low-frequency ultrasound produces a strong wave of pressure and specifically targets fat cell membranes, the molecules in the fat cell membrane vibrate and disintegrate resulting in the death of the andipocyte. The fat inside the cell is removed by the body resulting in permanent fat cell loss.
What happens?
This treatment can get a little warm and can give some redness but results can often be seen straight away although may take up to a couple of weeks. For this treatment it is recommended to ensure good hydration prior to and after the treatment to aid the fat removal and 6 to 8 sessions are recommended at weekly intervals.
Depending on your problem area and your body size the nurse will advise which technology would be used to help you and in most cases both cryolipolisis and cavitation will be used in combination over the course of the treatment to maximise the results you achieve alongside the radio frequency to tighten the skin.
Radio Frequency
The radio-frequency energy produces heat they can target below the epidermis so as not to damage the skin. The radio-frequency energy helps to treat superficial fat, skin tightening, circulation, and lymphatic drainage.
Where can you get it done?
3-D liposuction is available at the Marble Arch, Bond Street, Esher, Bluewater, Liverpool Street, Shepherd’s Bush, Newcastle and Metrocentre branches of the clinic. You can go for each separate type of nonsurgical liposuction that’s the machine offers or there are combination packages available. You can have this treatment anywhere on your body that has localised fat such as your chin, bingo wings, inside or outside thigh or tummy.
What happened?
I went to see Rachel at the pro skin clinic in Liverpool Street. After a thorough consultation Rachel said I would get more benefit from having the treatment on my outer thighs. She said she would use the ultrasound cavitation treatment to effectively shatter or melt the fat cells causing them to turn to liquid. This is passed away by the body naturally. This approach gets rid of fat and also helps smooth cellulite.
How did the treatment go?
I found the treatment fine, not painful at all. The bizarre thing was the ringing in my ears due to the vibration caused by the ultrasound. It was a bit annoying but you forget about it after a while. The treatment was quite relaxing and not painful in any way. Hydrate fully before and during this treatment.
What do they do?
They prep your skin and then move the machine around and massage over the area you are having treated. This lasts around an 30 minutes to 1 hour. The next step was a different part of the machine called the vacuum rolling treatment. This is a non-invasive cellulite reduction treatment with vacuum suction. The depleted fat cells are removed via the rolling action of the machine through the lymphatic system. This assists after having the ultrasound cavitation and helps to eliminate the fat from the body. The treatment breaks down the fibrous bonds between the skin and fatty tissue. Those bonds lead to the typical dimpling appearance of cellulite so I was glad it attacks them! You could just have this treatment on its own if cellulite is your only concern. I strangely found this really relaxing!
Thoughts?
I did think it would be one of those treatments with great claims but nothing to back it up. Speaking to Rachel who is very knowledgeable about the machine and who should and shouldn’t have certain treatments. This really put me at ease. She suggested that I have my thighs treated not my arms, in case it caused skin sagging. I think there is a high duty of care at this clinic. I don’t think they would provide treatments if there was no evidence of them working.
How do the thighs look?
My thighs definitely look smoother since having the treatment a few weeks ago. I will try and go back next year when I’m back from holiday to give another session a go.
Results
I found many videos on YouTube from average people who has had this treatment. Or ones using a machine with the same technology with great results.
