Rose Facial at The Savoy Hotel Spa
I have been lucky enough to go to The Savoy Hotel before but never the spa. I was very excited to try out the Savoy Spa and have a facial.
The lobby of the Savoy looked gorgeous with a beautiful Christmas tree decorated by Boodles Jewellery Company. There were other amazing decorations in the afternoon tea area and other parts of the lobby. I spent a while looking around and enjoying the festive atmosphere.
The Savoy Spa is on the third floor of the hotel. As soon as I arrived I noted how peaceful and quiet it was and how lovely the staff were. Upon arrival you fill in your consultation form and you then have the option to get a fluffy robe and slippers you can change into in the luxurious locker rooms or you can go to your treatment room and change there if you prefer.
Once in your treatment room you have a brief consultation before your treatment commences about what you want from your treatment, any likes and dislikes and can specify for example any preferences such as not having a head massage which was great, I hate my hair being touched so it was so nice that the therapists understand that some people might not like certain aspects of a treatment.
Essential Rose Facial
I chose to have the Essential Rose Facial (50 minutes, £100) which was done using Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating range of products that harnesses the regenerative properties of luxurious rose and geranium oils to nourish, soften and hydrate dry, delicate and finely textured complexions.
The renewing rose cleanser, exfoliating cleanser, skin tonic, and radiance skin serum were used in conjunction with the revitalising face oil, triple rose renewing moisturiser, firming eye serum and the rose face mask. All of those beautiful products and amazing effleurage massage to my face, neck and arms made me slip off into a lovely sleep and awake with a smooth radiant complexion and a relaxed state of mind. Let’s be honest, I didn’t want to leave!
My lovely therapist was called Orianne and I would absolutely recommend that you ask for her if you are having a facial at the Savoy, she was so good that I actually fell asleep which is rare for me at any time let alone in a facial.
Overall it was one of the best facials I have ever had. The spa gives you such a perfect and luxurious experience, if I was able to I would come here weekly!
The Savoy Hotel including the Spa take great care of their guests. They even use soft water from Kinetico throughout the hotel including for all of their spa treatments. It’s also used for the pool, sauna and spa which really makes a difference to your skin and hair. London is a hard water area and that means the water contains high levels of calcium and magnesium. They can potentially irritate the skin and irritate those of us with eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis. Water softeners like Kinetico have an ‘ion exchange’ system. This removes the calcium and magnesium salts from the water, thus completely eliminating the hardness.
I’d never thought how hard water and limescale affects you in relation to beauty and drinking water. So that is definitely something to keep in mind!
