You may have seen the brand Colorsport in Boots but not picked it up. So I wanted to talk about it today as they have some amazing products that are really inexpensive. They’re good quality and can really save you time in the run up to Christmas.
Instead of hundreds of different products they sell a capsule collection of eyebrow and eyelash products including a 30 Day Mascara, 24 Hour Eyeliner, Rapid Lash-GroEyeliner, Eyebrow Definer and Smokey Eyes & Perfect Brows Kit.
I tested all of these products out to see if they really worked as, especially at this time of year, any products that you can use yourself at home rather than finding the time and spending the money to go to a salon get two thumbs up from me.
First stop was the 30 Day Mascara (Boots RRP £8.25/RRP £9.50), this is a lash tinting product just like the lash tint that you get done in a salon but the great thing about doing it at home is that you don’t have to waste 2 trips to a salon for a patch test and then for the treatment as you can do it all in the comfort of your own home. For those with blonde eyelashes like me, tinting your lashes will make such a difference. It’s great before going travelling for when you don’t have time to use make-up and it makes you look a bit more polished and for the party season, in conjunction with your mascara, it makes lashes look even more dramatic as you can get every last tiny eyelash that you can’t normally get with your mascara alone.
The 30 day mascara is so simple to use:
STEP 1)
Clean your eyelashes thoroughly with a non-oily cleanser in order to remove any make-up and natural oils. Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses.
STEP 2)
Before dying, apply a small amount of thick skin cream or petroleum jelly under the eyes, carefully avoiding the lashes, in order to keep the eye protection papers in place and keep the dye off the skin.
DO NOT MIX the Eyelash Colour Solution 1 and the Eyelash Colour Gel 2, but follow carefully Steps 3 to 5.
STEP 3)
Dip the tip of a cotton bud into the Eyelash Colour Solution 1 and apply several coats onto the eyelashes, so that they are soaked through. Leave on for 1 minute and WITHOUT RINSING OFF proceed to Step 4.
STEP 4)
Apply about 1 cm of Eyelash Colour Gel 2 onto the provided eyelash brush, working it into the bristles. Then brush through the lashes.
STEP 5)
Wait for 1 minute, then rinse off with wet cotton pads or face wipes.
This product comes in black and brown and you can also use it to tint your brows so it’s a two in one and so much cheaper than the salon as you can use the kit over 10 times. Please do note that this product has been reformulated as products for the eye area are not now allowed to contain Hydrogen Peroxide so it should be very gentle however this does mean that there isn’t quite as a dramatic result as with the older version of the product which did contain Hydrogen Peroxide.
24 Hour Eyeliner
The second product that I tried was the 24 hour eyeliner (Boots RRP £7.25/ RRP £6.99), I always use liners that have a felt tip pen applicator (which this does), as I have to apply it without my glasses I struggle to get the perfect winged eyeliner so having a felt tip pen applicator which is more sturdy is much easier for me. I can’t say I kept this on for the full 24 hours but it definitely lasted from when I left the house at 7.00am until I got home from work at 9.00pm without smudging or transferring so for me this is a great product, especially considering the price. I should mention I do have dry skin so I do not know if this would fare as well if you had oily skin around your area.
Rapid Lash Gro Liner
The next product is one of those ones that you just think OMG why did nobody think of this before? Lash enhancing serums have been around for years but they are generally clear and not coloured. The Colorsport Rapid Lash-Gro Liner (RRP £14.95) is so innovative because it combines regular black liquid eyeliner with a lash enhancing serum so in just 4 to 8 weeks of using it the treatment contained in the liner will help improve the appearance of your eyelashes in length, thickness and fullness! It contains the active ingredient capixyl (2.5%) which is a clinically proven lash enhancing active ingredient. Not only is the liner going to enhance your eyelashes it’s actually just a really good liquid eyeliner, what a great idea!

The last product is the Eyebrow Definer (Boots RRP£7.99/ RRP £6.99) which is a chunky felt tip pen that you can use to fill in your brows, it creates a really natural finish which is good for everyday, you can draw on the individual hairs and once it’s dried it stays put all day long. I do have to say that I prefer using the powder brow kit but if your preference is a pen then this is also very good and really quick.
Overall I’ve been very impressed with this range. The products do exactly what they say they will do and are very inexpensive. I would definitely suggest that you take a look.
