The Waterproof Hay Fever Proof Eyeshadow and Liner You Need
It’s hay fever and allergy season and I don’t know about you but that causes havoc with my makeup. My eyes get very sensitive, itchy and watery and my waterline looks really red and horrible. I also get a runny nose which then causes redness around my nose from the endless blowing. Hot stuff!
What Is Even The Point?
None of the medication does anything at all, I take the tablets, the eye drops, and the nasal spray. It does NADA! I wonder if the pharma companies are just having a big old laugh at us all. Do they make this rubbish that does nothing so we just keep repurchasing?
Solution?
I have, however, finally found a product that has made putting on and keeping on makeup during the summer so much easier. I’m sure it will also work in the winter when cold and flu season, holidays when you’re in and out of the water or in humidity.

I had thought they would make nice waterline liners or eyeshadow bases but hadn’t thought they would be so useful or that they would fast become HG status! I have shades ME 54 Metallic Pinky Beige and ME 52 Satin Flesh Coloured Pink Beige.
What Are They?
Aqua Matic pencils are waterproof and smudge proof eye shadows that come in an automatic retractable pencil. Thanks to its integrated sharpener the tip is always sharpened as desired so it can be used as a liner or shadow. These dry quickly so while you can blend them you do need to be quick. Aqua Matic is available in 10 shades: from classical to vibrant pop colors.
How To Use?
I use ME54 as an eyeshadow base so if all of my eyeshadow rubs off I do at least have a base colour that lasts all day. It evens out my eyelid colour which is naturally very dark. I then use the ME52 on my waterline so it looks like the nude colour it should and brightens my eyes. The ME52 pencil can also be used, if you are fairly light skinned, underneath your concealer to make sure it stays as long as possible. I use this around my inner corner of my eye and around my nose before putting on concealer and setting powder. You can even layer a second coat on once the first is dry.
Makeup Disaster!
Before using these, by the afternoon, all of my makeup and base around my nose had rubbed off and I had to reapply everything. That was if I had the time at work as generally I don’t, so I had to spend the afternoon with a half made up face. This might not bother a lot of people, but I was unimpressed. I need makeup that will not budge!
If you only want to purchase one I recommend ME52. It is great for a single eyeshadow look, as a base, as a concealer. You could also go with the black if you’re looking for a super dark liner that won’t budge.
The Roundup
These last a really long time and stay true to colour even after sweating, watery eyes and swimming. They are portable and easy to apply and remove easily with an oil-based makeup remover. They are really handy for travel or your handbag.
So if you want a basic look and to cover redness, that doesn’t fail after pool time, snorkeling or just general hay fever and allergy drama, these are perfect.
