Boots Haul – What I Bought in February 2017
My Saturday started innocuously enough, I purchased a new shower head and felt pretty proud of my skills as an adult. And then it struck, the call of Boots, echoing through the halls of the shopping centre, calling to me …’buy me, buy me’. I’ll just have a browse I thought…and well, the rest is history. So after quite a long time of being on a shopping ban, I am back with an accidental haul. I lost all restraint and far from browsing, I bought quite a bit, from YSL to Wilkinson Sword, (no brand was safe)!
I haven’t got around to using all of the things yet. So for now, I thought I’d share with you a few buys that I’ve used so far and am loving. Some, I have put on Instagram in the past few weeks, along with a few extras that I couldn’t resist!
Wilkinson Sword Intuition Ultra Moisture Razor
I love checking out new beauty packaging, and as a girl whose aesthetic for basically everything I own is all-black all the time, the chic new Wilkinson Sword black packaging with flashes of vibrant colour really stood out and caught my eye against a sea of aqua, neon pink and pastels.
I purchased both the Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk razor, as I like it and have purchased it many times before, and also the Wilkinson Sword Intuition Ultra Moisture Razor which has been a real revelation.
The selling point of the Intuition Ultra Moisture Razor is that the razor has four blades surrounded by a moisturising solid shave cream containing shea butter. Once you run it under water, it lathers up itself, without the need for shave gel, so it’s a perfect 2-in-1 product for busy women. It is also a big space saver so ideal for travelling, and means that I don’t have to lug a giant can of shave gel with me to the gym.
I was impressed by the speed that you can shave your legs using the Wilkinson Sword Intuition Ultra Moisture razor. This has actually encouraged me to shave more regularly and stop being so lazy. The time and effort involved is so minimal that I don’t mind making the effort to use it every few days. The whole range has been revamped with the new sleek black packaging and currently in Boots at the moment. The range includes the Hydro Silk, Hydro Silk Bikini, Quattro for Women, Quattro for Women Bikini, Intuition Ultra Moisture and Intuition Sensitive Care. Find out more about the range here http://www.wilkinsonsword.co.uk/women/razors-and-blades price is at retailer’s discretion.
NYX Shine Killer Primer and Micro Brow Pencil
Show me a new beauty stand and I will go nuts. I’d never seen NYX in real life before so I couldn’t resist. I needed a new mattifying primer and something to tame my ‘brows gone wild’. I picked up the Shine Killer primer and Micro Brow Pencil. The micro brow pencil is a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Whizz and for £7, it’s a steal. It is capable of hair-thin strokes and defines well with good pigmentation. The primer is just what I need as my chin has been getting so oily. It is very similar to the Smashbox Photofinisher primer without being as drying and costs less than half the price at £11.
YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation
Another product I was tempted by due to the sleek black packaging was the YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation. I had read reviews on this foundation and over 90% of them were positive, now I see why. A lot of cushion foundations provide minimal coverage but this one is a medium coverage which is buildable to achieve the look you desire whilst still maintaining a smooth dewy finish. I travel a lot and this is the perfect travel foundation and also great for on-the-go. Love it.
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump
Matte lips have been in for so long now I was missing some high shine gloss. Years ago I used to use a Sexy Mother pucker product which I loved so I bought a similar colour from their new Pillow Plump range. It’s ultra-shiny, hydrating and plumps up your lips temporarily. I bought shade nude about town which is a brown toned nude. Perfect for every day wear to the office or a more casual makeup look.
