Mini Review of The Contents of The QVC Tili Box

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I’m a big fan of the Benefit brand and out of all of their mascara’s the roller lash is my fave. It delivers the perfect amount of curl to give you that fluttery lash look. This mini will be great for my upcoming holiday.

The curved mascara wand really grabs all of your lashes, even the tiny ones in the inner and outer corner. It doesn’t flake, smudge or get all over your eyelid when applying and looks great all day.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and Muslin Cloth

This is the first balm cleanser I ever used and it’s the MVP really isn’t it? This is what I usually recommend to anyone to use if they aren’t into skincare and have never tried balm cleansers before. I have a personal fave which is really expensive, but for the price, this is what I recommend. If you’ve been using a cheap pack of wipes to cleanse and move to this you will be gobsmacked by the difference. The cleanse and polish not only cleanses every last scrap of makeup from your face without the need for scrubbing it also smells divine.

All you need to do is massage some onto dry skin, then wet the muslin cloth with warm water, wring out and remove the cleanser. That’s all you need to do for soothed, clean skin with no residue. Using this daily will give you that new skin glow and (if you’ve gone from a terrible cleansing routine) no doubt get you some compliments on your skin and how good you look.

Julian Farel Shampoo and Conditioner

I’d never heard of this brand of hair care products before. The vitamin shampoo and conditioner are supposed to be anti ageing and both contain hyaluronic acid.  The conditioner also contains hydrolyzed keratin which I believe should, therefore, strengthen hair. I love the scent as it’s a bit fruity and very fresh, I feel if your hair was swishing around you smelling like that it would feel really nice.

I read many great reviews about the products when researching them having received them and not being able to try them myself due to my hair extensions (I’ll give them to my mum to use and report back). They are apparently great for those who have a sensitive scalp, who have coloured hair and to give strength to older, weaker hair. Sounds pretty good to me!  I love how this box introduces you to new products that you haven’t heard of before.

OPI Nail Lacquer – Fiji Collection

You will receive one of the 8 new OPI Fiji collection shades for Summer 2017. I have shade Do You Sea What I Sea and it’s a beautiful Aegean blue. It’s exactly the same shade as the bottle shows after 2 coats and would be perfect for the summer, especially on your toes to offset a tan or if you have darker skin. OPI products are generally quite expensive and this is a full-size nail varnish, which I would say covers about 1/4 of the cost of the box by itself which is a pretty good deal to me.

Vita Liberata 10 Minute Tan

This is not a generic fake tan, rather it is a quick and easy gradual tanning lotion. I really like Vita Liberata tanning products and used to use their spray tanning liquid back when I had my own beauty business. The colour of their tans is extremely natural and suits all skin types. The products are also infused with organic ingredients and leave your skin healthy with a subtle glow.

This gradual tanner is really easy to apply and gives a very natural colour. It’s perfect for those who prefer a light tan or those who are new to tanning products. It lasts 7 days and doesn’t go patchy if you exfoliate well, so remember to have a good scrub the day before you start using it.

All you have to do is apply all over your body, leave for just 10 minutes and then shower! The tan then develops over 4-8 hours. So no getting your bedding or furniture tanned or staining all of your towels.

It Cosmetics CC Cream

This cult SPF50 cc cream was developed in conjunction with plastic surgeons so you know it was well researched.  It gives you a flawless, perfect base at the same time as protecting your skin with SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen.

It’s great for dry skin, it’s very hydrating and leaves your skin really smooth.  I love that you can hide pigmentation and dark spots with this cc cream and it’s also infused with an advanced anti ageing serum with nourishing ingredients including collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E!

The tube you get is the same size as a generic concealer tube so there’s plenty to last you for a 2 week holiday, which is your facial SPF totally sorted!

Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose

Hallelujah! This stuff is amazing and is a limited edition version of the regular Liquid Gold. I do get the feeling they will have to put this out as a regular product as they surely can’t take it away from us. If you want to buy a full size the links are all down at the bottom of the page.

It has all of the benefits of regular Alpha H with the addition of rose. There’s rose, sacred lotus, orchid petal, rose water, red algae, calcium, magnesium and potassium. For those with very sensitive skin, this is a much better option as the other regular one might be a bit harsh for you. You get 50ml and the 100ml full size would cost £37.50 so you’re getting such a great deal in the QVC Tili box to get this with everything else for just £20, you could buy 2 boxes for £40 and get 100ml of this and double of everything else!

How Often To Use

You only need to use it 3 nights a week (note the word nights, I do listen to Caroline Hirons). Use it on clean dry skin. Also if you’re using a foaming cleanser then stop (it upsets the balance of the skin and therefore the product). Use it on a cotton pad all around the face apart from the eyes and lips and then on the neck and if any left over on the back of the hands.

What is it? It’s an exfoliating product, similar in a way you would think of a toner I suppose but it’s not really. It contains glycolic acid which is an active ingredient hence the 3 times a week, you could give yourself skin sensitivity problems if used too often. The point is to get rid of dead skin cells and make the skin look more glowing and fresh. This does mean you must use an SPF daily when using this product although really you should be anyway on the face, neck and hands. This will make your skin look amazing and is hands down one of the star products in the box and worth buying it just for this.

Ultrasun SPF30 Face

Ultrasun is an advanced all-in-one skin care and sun protection range. This SPF30 for face has an anti-ageing formula which frankly, past 27 I should have been using. In a remarkable coincidence, I have got a big bag of Ultrasun products to take with me to Antigua so I will review those in a few months when I get back to let you know how they all go. For now, I will be using this daily and it’s even my mum’s favourite SPF I found out this week and she says she’s been using it for years.

Mum’s Thoughts On Ultrasun

Mum is a QVC aficionado so she has been purchasing this from there for ages. She says it’s a brilliant sunscreen for every day and, as you only have to apply it once a day unless you’re in the sea or pool, it’s very simple.

My thoughts so far are that while it is a white cream it’s not thick at all and disappears into the skin in an instant. You can put your normal moisturiser or bb cream over the top and it doesn’t make your skin greasy.  Both mum and, now I, use it on our neck, hands and decollete too. Keep those age spots at bay!

What’s In It?

It contains Ectoin for active DNA and cell protection as well as an enzyme that apparently neutralises skin-damaging free radical activity. This stuff sounds like something from NASA! It is free from oil, emulsifiers and perfume so smells of nothing at all, perfect for those with allergies or sensitive skin.  I’m now actually really excited to try out all of the full-size product I have for the holiday.

Erno Lazlo Cleansing oil 15ml and Face Bar

Finally, the last item in my QVC Tili Box is actually an Erno Lazlo duo that comes in a cute pouch.  Erno Lazlo, if you haven’t heard of the brand, are incredibly luxe. The Hydra Therapy items are not just for dry skin but all skin types. The duo of the cleansing oil and cleansing bar are formulated with antioxidants and essential vitamins to create the perfect cleansing regime that effectively sweeps away dirt, oil and impurities from pores.

Hydra-Therapy Cleansing Oil is bursting with natural essential oils including Avocado, Jojoba and Grapeseed, the lightweight formula is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, working to restore and preserve skin’s natural barrier and seal in hydration without leaving an oily residue.

Phelityl Cleansing Bar gently cleanses without stripping the skin of essential oils (it’s a bar but not a soap).  This is the perfect double cleanser which will remove every last trace of oil or pollution dirt from the face and it is enriched with safflower seed oil to soothe and glycerin to soften.

Overall Thoughts On The QVC Tili Box

If you were debating on buying the QVC Tili Box then honestly, I really think you couldn’t get a better beauty box than this for £20.  It gives you a value of much more than £20 with just the Alpha-H product and the OPI nail varnish so really it’s a pretty big bargain saver. I don’t review many beauty boxes as I don’t find them good value or like that you are tied into a subscription which again, you aren’t with the Tili box. I really don’t have a bad word to say about this at all and will use everything but the shampoo and conditioner (due to my extensions). And even that will go straight to my mum who seemed quite happy about that!
