Cruelty-Free and Vegan

Self Tanning Products

More and more people these days are conscious of the beauty products that they purchase and are looking for cruelty-free and vegan options. Sometimes it can be hard to know what is or isn’t cruelty-free or whether vegan products actually work well. One of the brands I only started trying this year, Tropic Skincare, is both vegan and cruelty-free so I like sharing posts about them because their products also look luxe and have so far always worked really well for me.

It’s Finally Summer (ish)

If you’re a tan lover you might have struggled to find cruelty-free and vegan tanning products in the past so I wanted to talk about Tropic’s products for tanning today since it’s finally getting sunny in the UK. And if you’re like me, you need a bit of a helping hand in the tanning department! My legs are so pale without tan they would probably reflect the sun if I do go tanning!

Tropic – Summer Skin Gradual Tanning Lotion £24, 250ml

This gradual self-tanning lotion lets you build your color as you want. Glow a little or a lot. The Summer Skin is a lightweight lotion that gives you a light to moderate tan while keeping the skin soft and healthy and keeping animals safe. The formula offers a sun-kissed look and deep hydration thanks to mango butter and organic coconut oil. It smells absolutely gorgeous, a bit like sun cream mixed with a pina colada! It’s a slightly tinted lotion so you can see where you’ve rubbed it in and that you’ve covered all areas so there aren’t any streaks.

I like to apply this before bed and I use a latex glove to rub it in just so I don’t stain the palms of my hands. This gives such a natural finish and a light bronzy glow. Love!

I’d used the gradual tanning drops a couple of times in the week this picture was taken

Tropic – Sun Drops £22, 30ml

The perfect facial product to use in conjunction with the summer skin body gradual tan. The facial skin drops are also for gradual tanning and are enriched with nourishing and skin conditioning ingredients like vitamin e and passion fruit extract. You can either mix with your moisturiser and apply at night. Or sometimes what I like to do since I have so many foundations that are so pale for me, is to mix a few drops with a foundation that is too light as it’s tinted it automatically darkens the foundation and then gradually tans throughout the day as well. Handy!  I really think it’s one of the main things that’s making my skin look more radiant at the moment because I am totally exhausted in reality!

Tropic – Instant Glow Perfecting Leg Serum £28, 250ml

This is for two types of people. Either you want to fake tan but you are too scared or you need to get your legs/arms or whatever out to wear an outfit and have no time to fake tan. It works for both!  This gives you a lovely bronzed glow, covers small blemishes and veins and also works well at hiding bruises.

The ingredients include coffee butter and arnica extract, and it has the skin nutrition and protection of vitamins e and c. The best bit is, especially for my random bruises,  this leg perfecting serum helps heal damaged skin! It does that whilst also reducing the appearance of bruises and scars! What a genius idea!

With the colour enhancing effects of natural caramel and gold mica particles to boost skin luminosity, it really does leave your legs looking flawless. I am using it in the picture above and without it, my legs are white with blue veins and some serious bruise marks from the quad machine at the gym.  I think it’s great! Just massage a few pumps into the skin like you’re rubbing in moisturiser or use with a beauty brush if you don’t want to get it on your hands.

So There You Have It!

So there are some products that are not only cruelty-free and vegan but are also awesome tanners whatever kind of product you are looking for. I hope this helped in your search for vegan products!
