I have dry skin and those dreaded squinty lines around my eyes. Which makes the above primer by Clarins a brilliant invention as it is perfect for dry skin. I would assume for those that are acne prone this would be too thick but for those with dry and flaky skin it is amazing in smoothing and perfecting. In short it actually does what it says that it does. I think this would be great on mature skin too, that is rather tough due to sun damage? It really is very smoothing and makes your pores look almost like they have dissapeared. I tested it on the back of my hand in Debenhams and it even made my hand look amazing lol! It was a must purchase after I saw that.
As you can see from the pic above I seem to have stumbled across a dupe! L’oreal Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing primer is very similar indeed.
It looks the same (pink and marshmallowy) feels the same and even has the same light scent. The packaging is very similar (although I like the Clarins much more as its pretty).
The only difference I can find is that the L’Oreal one is ever so slightly thicker and the Clarins is ever so slightly smoother. But this could just be because the Clarins one is newer and the other has dried up a bit.
Either way I recommend both of these primers as they are so similar. You could go for the marginally nicer one by Clarins or the cheaper and almost the same one by L’Oreal. Up to you!
Personally? I think I would repurchase the one that had the best special offer going, Superdrug usually have L’Oreal on offer and department stores often give a good gift with 2 Clarins purchases. I do like those mini free gifts it’s like a pressie!
