What are the claims
The regenerate boosting serum kit is a new product out, costs around £30 (that is the price in Boots), and it claims that thanks to the NR-5 technology and the flouride in it’s formulation, it helps provide focussed protection for your teeth against the effects of enamel erosion and acid attacks. So basically it helps to repair any damage from eating or drinking things with acids in that have caused damage to your tooth enamel.
This was very exciting to me as I think, beauty wise, that teeth are very important but more importantly, for your general health you really do need to maintain healthy teeth. I wanted to review the Regenerate Enamel Science Boosting Serum as I am a bit tooth obsessed!
This is a monthly application system, so one box per month. It claims to boost the effectiveness of the advanced toothpaste by 43%, as demonstrated in a 3 day in vitro test measuring enamel hardness (you can read more about this on their website).
What’s in the box
- 2 custom-fit mouth trays
- 1 customizing device
- 1 mixing stick
- 1 NR-5 serum 16ml
- 1 activator gel 16ml.
How do you use
Using the trays provided (and it explains how to customise them) you apply the NR-5 Serum into the mouth tray and then the Activator Gel over the top and then use the mixing stick to mix them together so the product is activated. You put the mouth guards into your mouth and leave them there for 3 minutes.
Does it work?
I found the kit easy to use but the mouth trays quite small, they were easy to customise but I do have big teeth and I also have my own mouth guard that I use for teeth whitening so I did use that for the last use of the three days and I found that worked better for me and my big-ol teethy pegs.
The two products are really simple to mix together and this is a quick and easy treatment.
After three days I did debate how I could measure that this product actually works and I think the indicators are that my teeth look more smooth, they feel smoother and almost shiny when I run my tongue over them and, as when I use tooth whitening products from the dentist, the colour of my teeth does slightly change straight after using and, this isn’t lasting, although my teeth are pretty white anyway, but some patches look whiter. I am no scientist but I assume this is where the enamel is likely to be being renewed.
Overall I think it’s definitely worth giving a go if you do have tooth enamel problems, or eat acidic foods or have fizzy drinks, also in conjunction with the special toothpaste from the same range that I will review in a separate blog post.
