Resveratrol is a potent anti oxidant, found in red wine/the skin of red grapes/chocolate and peanuts is suggested to have an anti ageing effect on our faces and it is the new wonder ingredient and the one which is in the new Fountain concentrate available at Boots.
A new study has suggested that there is conclusive evidence that resveratrol directly activates a protein that promotes health and longevity which frankly, is good enough for me to test it out! There is currently no evidence that a topical cream containing the ingredient can penetrate the skin but it can be absorbed into the body and that is why this dietary supplement is being hailed as the new elixir of youth.
I have been testing it out now for a month as I love any gimmick designed to make me look younger and have found that I am glad that you only take 1 teaspoon per day, it tastes fruity and strange and quite strongly of pomegranite. The results however are much more palateable than the taste as I can definitely see a marked difference in the elasticity and moisture of my skin. It took around 2 weeks to start seeing the difference. A good example of how my skin is no longer as dry and dehydrated as before is that despite having had a cold and blowing my nose for around a week now I don’t have flaky skin around my nose, normally it takes a few hours after getting a cold for this to start but it still hasn’t even though my nose is quite red from the cold. Normally the skin splits and is raw but not this time which is brilliant as it always hurts so much normally.
