So let’s talk Vegan Sun Screen! I know a lot of people were interested in cruelty-free tanning products so I thought I should also feature SPF products as well for those who are vegan or just want to purchase the products for ethical reasons. Whether you’re jetting off on holiday or just chilling on your balcony you still need to make sure you slap on that sun cream to protect yourself from skin cancer and ageing UV rays. Sunburn really is not necessary so please use your SPF whenever you are out and about and stay burn free.
Holiday or Home
Whether you’re jetting off on holiday or just chilling on your balcony you still need to make sure you slap on that sun cream to protect yourself from skin cancer and ageing UV rays. Sunburn is NOT the one and is not necessary so please use your SPF whenever you are out and about and stay burn free.
All of the Tropic Sun Care Range is:
- 100% mineral sun protection
- Free from toxic chemicals
- Broad spectrum with UVA and UVB protection
- Kind to the environment
- Gentle on sensitive skin
- Water resistant
Tropic use naturally-derived, active ingredients zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in their sunscreens to both protect from the sun and be kinder to skin and the environment too. So if you don’t want to use a chemical sunscreen for whatever reason, these are all mineral sunscreens.
The skin shade SPF is available in 15, 30 and 50. I went with 30 as a good one to use in the UK over summer. They are all packed with botanic extracts to soothe and hydrate whilst they shield you from the sun’s damaging rays. They contain kakadu, illawarra plum and kahai oil to moisturise and protect and roucou which is 100 times richer in beta carotene than carrots and provides added UV protection. The silky smooth lotion sinks in quickly and smells gorgeous. I like the flatter shape of the tube as it doesn’t roll around, handy if you are on the beach with a table next to you so it doesn’t roll onto the sand and get sticky and gritty!
The problem of having to pick a foundation or sun cream is solved with the SPF 50 tinted skin shade facial sun protection. You can get this in either light to medium or medium to dark and it’s a tinted moisturiser and a broad spectrum mineral sunscreen. It has sheer lightweight coverage that looks very natural but is fab for the beach or pool as it’s waterproof. Definitely a nice moisturising facial product but probably best with those who have normal to dry skin as it contains oils. What’s more, hero ingredient, wild hibiscus flower, helps prevent the breakdown skin’s elastin to actively combat the ageing process. It’s a beach bag must have!
This is my personal favourite from Tropic’s sun care range. It’s a small pot of awesomeness that you can pop in your handbag or your beach bag if you’re away. Sun Balm is a pocket-sized SPF50 clear balm that’s supercharged with tamanu oil, vitamin E and rosemary leaf oil. Use it on lips, hands and feet, nose, ears and anywhere where you feel like you need a thicker layer protection. The balm formula is delightful and if you only pick up 1 thing from the range I recommend this as it’s a very innovative product and not something you can get from a lot of other brands.
And that’s all of the Tropics Vegan Sun Screen items I have tried. I hope you enjoyed another vegan and cruelty-free skincare post and that you all have lots of fun in the sun this weekend!
