The Lipsticks

Wonder Woman – Get The Look
I love that Wonder Woman is a strong and fierce icon. I think it’s great to have different girl power role models. Some are for those who think miniskirts, shaving and makeup are anti-feminist, which is totally cool. Then there are ones like Wonder Woman and the Spice Girls who portray the feminism that I sign up to, where women should be treated equally and respected whatever they wear, whatever their shaving or makeup choices are and whatever job they have.
I have always loved makeup and personally see it as my war paint. Do I feel like a badass when I stride into a meeting feeling great, with a fab pair of shoes and my fave lippy on? Hell yea I do!
My Wonder Woman Look
I’ve created my own Wonder Woman look inspired by the Wonder lipstick. Something I would wear on Board Meeting day to make me feel fierce. My work makeup is part of my uniform I put on whenever I need to feel in charge of a situation. I stick on my high heels, a great dress and stick to neutral, long lasting makeup to look and feel polished and professional.
Makeup Look
I feel best when my makeup subtly enhances my features and that fits in well with the lipstick in shade Wonder as it’s a ‘your lips but better’ rosy pink nude.
Base
I used NYX shine killer primer as a base, Tropic Skincare pure effects beauty booster instead of foundation and Urban Decay naked concealer under my eyes, along my nose and on my chin. For both contour and highlight, I used the Mac QuickTrik Stick and blush is the Sisley Phyto-Blush Eclat, 4 Pinky Rose.
Eyes
I used the YSL Brow Couture in 01 on my brows. For eyeshadow, I blended the two terracotta shades from the Pixi Get The Look palette and finished with black Nip and Fab mascara.
Lips
All I have on my lips is the Wilkinson Sword Wonder Woman Lipstick in shade Wonder.
My Wonder Woman Outfit Look
Sometimes it can be hard to dress professionally for the office in summer. Ice cold aircon inside compared to the baking heat at lunchtime or your commute means a structured but thin floaty dress and some smart sandals are often the best options.
For commuting, I wear flip flops and when I get to the office I pop on my favourite nude sandals that really elongate the leg. There’s something empowering about towering over everyone else in a room! My dress is from the Vero Moda tall range and I love the lace detail at the bottom compared to the smart shirt dress style. It’s quite thin and floaty, meaning you won’t get too hot at lunchtime if you pop out to grab some food.
Baring Your Legs
Summer means getting your legs out more often and I personally like to shave if wearing a dress to work, as it seems more professional. I am very thankful I am a woman in the summer and can wear skirts, dresses or culottes. The men in our office have to wear suit trousers and they always seem very hot and flustered!
