As you may have seen if you watched my Vlog, on Wednesday 5th May all those able to attend the Sleek MakeUp event rocked up to All Stars Bowling Lane in Brick Lane. Some very excited, some, like me praying that they would not make a complete tit of themselves as they haven’t bowled for over 15 years 😛
The lovely girls from Sleek MakeUp had organised a fab event and after a slight wait we were ushered into one of the private bowling allies with our own bar and plenty of space to shake a lipgloss.
This was where I came unstuck. 1.30pm and a bearded man is offering me Tequila…..and I said yes! I must say All Star Lanes definitely know how to make a Margherita.
Yes that tiny strip of forehead and hair to the left is me…
I always end up at the back…
First up we gathered around and Tracey gave us an overview of the event and then after a roll call we were split into three teams and yes I was on The A Team haha trust me, with Milly, Sabrina, Sophie and a couple of other girlies who I sadly did not know. But one had a lovely handbag which transfixed me for ages!
Then we were guided to the mini lab where we were shown how they make lipsticks, eye dazzle dusts and lipgloss and then sat down at some tables to have a rummage through some old and new goodies and items that are due to be released in June including the Circus Palette and the Pout Polishes. I have to say this was my favourite part of the day, I was surprised how easy it was to make a small batch of makeup although I suppose the raw ingredients are probably quite expensive.
Circus Palette Out In June
The next stop was a makeover and one of the lovely ladies from Lace Magazine had her makeup done and we all picked up a few tips, it was so loud in the bowling alley that I didn’t get to hear everything (what was that…you think it was the tequila muffling my ears?) but luckily I filmed quite a bit so the mic picked up most of it.
Then there was a station whereby you could get your foundation matched but I gave this a miss, simply because I already have one and it’s the right colour so it seemed silly to waste their time when they had a lot of people to get through.
There as a suggestion boad but I don’t even think I saw it! I did have a look but didn’t get a chance to add anything.
At the end of the day there was a bowl-off and the prizes were tickets to the NYC makeup show, a digital camera, a notebook and a year’s supply of makeup! Sadly knowing that my bowling skills were slim to none I had no intention of trying to win, my aim was just try not to make a total prat of myself! I am not sure how I thought that was possible in those dodgy bowling shoes but I think I did ok, the bowling ball only went in the gutter once and I hit some pins..result! I was impressed with myself.
Sadly Leanne lost a fair few nails during the event, I felt her pain. And well done to Sophie, who won a trip to New York, and the other winners Didi, J, Shirley and ..were there any more? I lost track it was certainly very generous to offer so many prizes.
There were also some names pulled out of who would run a competition on their blog to name the colours in iDivine palettes and IHeartCosmetics was pulled out so I will let you know further details about how that will work when I am told, should be lots of fun!
The goody bags and table where you could play with makeup
At the end of the day we were packed off with a massive goody back, the likes of which I have never seen before! I will do a show and tell in my next haul video as I think these babies need to be seen in detail.
I also want to say a big hello to all of the new people that I met, it was lovely to meet you all and hopefully I will see you all soon xx And also to the ladies at Sleek thanks for a lovely day and WOW that goody bag is am–a–zing!
