Firstly I want to say a massive thank you to Sinead at daintydollymix who sent me the magnets for me to use for my depotting, she and Jo are always so sweet and send me stuff that I can’t get/they don’t sell down South xx
This is just my way of doing things, there are plenty of different ways of depotting shadows you can google if you don’t like my version.
You Will Need
- Some Mac eyeshadows in pots
- An old knife with a metal blade and a plastic or wooden handle, no metal handles
- Magnets for the back of the shadows
- Scissors
Step 1
Using your gas ring or hob or a lighter, heat up the knife making sure not to burn yourself and once it’s hot slide it through the plastic at the front of the pot aiming it slightly downwards.
Step 2
Once it’s in push the knife up against the bottom of the eyeshadow pan to pop out the top part of the pot and the top bit will pop out as in the picture above.
Step 3
Once again heat up the end of the knife, hold it flat against the bottom of the pan as above and slowly, gently push the pan out of the plastic. You have to be slow or it will ping out and possibly smash, not a good idea!
Step 4
Once your pan is free, stick the magnet on the bottom and if you want to you can microwave the rest of the pot to melt the glue and the name label will peel off the bottom once the glue’s melted and you can cut it down and stick it on over the magnet so you remember the names of your depotted shadows.
I hope that helps!
